Question When will O Steak/Seafood be opening?

Just before we headed south there was a lot of talk about Canoe opening a place in Lakeport! Any news?

Talking Tell Me More...

I love Canoe...I'm so glad the owners are opening another restaurant in the Lakes Region.

Does anyone know where it is exactly? When it opens? A sample of the menu maybe?

Any info would be great!!

Thanks.

Default O Steak/Seafood

The restaurant will be located at the Lake Opechee Inn & Spa in Lakeport just off of Elm Street and right on the lake. It should be opening in about 2 to 3 weeks. They said they will announce it in the papers. Haven't heard more about the menu other than "steaks & seafood".

I just tried their website "eatato.com" out of curiousity...... basically all it says is "eatato.com coming soon to register.com", and then a lot of pop-ups began showing up. I'd say the owners are doing a wonderful job of whetting our appetites, pun intended!

Has anyone heard when O Seafood & Steaks will be opening. The Inn's web site continues to say January, but we're running out of days.

Default Opening

they will open this weekend, but i heard that they are not really ready to open. so i would wait a week or two to let them get better prepared. that is if you want to get a better experience out of it.

As of yesterday, there were still large "help wanted" signs posted for the restaurant at the entrance to the Lake Opechee Inn. So, I'd definitely wait a few weeks before checking them out.
Hey, doesn't Oprah Winfrey have a magazine called "O"?

O had an ad in the Citizen newspaper last week that indicated they would open Feb. 1. They were also taking Valentine's Day reservations.

Default Thursday....

"O" will be opening Thursday at 5 pm. I'll be getting a sneak preview tonight. I saw the menu last night and it looks interesting. Let you know tomorrow what the sampling was like.

Default "O" - the food!

Mmmmmmmmmm!

Had a sampling of the menu last night and found most to be very tasty...Lobster and Asparagus chowder...Scallops and Corn Pudding. My favorite was one of the appetizers...I think they were called Kobe sticks. Definitely an upscale menu...with prices to match. Extensive wine list, pleasant wait staff (a few glitches, but to be expected with the entire staff learning the routine), nice atmosphere.

They didn't appear to have anything that would appeal to children so you might want to leave the kids at home.

I have eaten there twice. Very nice atmosphere. You can tell it was built/ setup with no expense spared.I was told they spent well over a mil during the setup. Great food, nice service, but as stated before, some glitches to get worked out. Absolutely worthwhile for a try.

Default "O" update for the kids...

O now has a children's menu. Last night the place was packed with a 2 hour wait for a table. I heard that they will be opening for lunch in the next month or so.

What does that mean?? I know the owner too, and I am sure that the quality will be there and so will the customers!! The Chef's that have moved from Canoe to 'O' I think show the quality of food they are looking to put out. I am suprised to hear about a $49 lobster-mac however I could only assume that the lobster is a FULL lobster that would be included.

I have yet to visit to 'O' however think it is going to be a hit with the quality of food that is served. Not many if any places in the lakes region offer Kobe beef! I wish them the best of luck with the new place, hopefully it won't take as long as it did with Canoe to come around.

The Lobster Mac & Cheese comes in three sizes - 1/4 pound of lobster meat for $20, 1/2 pound for $35 and 1 pound for $48.

The menu has a good variety of items. Appetizers range from $4 to $14, side dishes are $4, salads from $5 to $6, and entrees from $15 to $55 (32 ounce NY Strip).

Some items are similar to Canoe but each restaurant will have their own distinct dishes. Canoe has calamari but not at O.

I am looking forward to going back.

If you slip at one of the marinas at the end of Paugus Bay; otherwise, that would depend upon your boat, as you can surmise from the following links...

Great job Scott, will be back again soon.

Just came home from our first visit. Very nice design to the dining area. Service was first class.

I had the mac and lobster. (the 1/4 pound of lobster version) and it was great. With enough left over for tomorrow. Huge portions. My wife had a swordfish and grilled shrimp that was one of tonight’s specials and it was fantastic.

The Fried Oysters Rockefeller appetizer was out of this world good.

It’s a little expensive, but worth the bucks for a special night out.
