Update on 3d Models of Winni Shipwrecks
I am in the process of creating a number of new 3d models of shipwrecks in the lake. I have 3 that I have posted on my sketch fab already if anyone is interested.

It’s done by capturing a series of overlapping photos of the shipwreck which are then combined by a computer program ( Agisoft Metashape) to make a 3d model. The process is know as photogrammetry and has become a major tool for underwater archaeology in recent years. The lake can be a challenging environment for using this method because of visibility at certain spots but I haven’t had too many issues yet!

Are you using and ROV, photographing pulling stills from video to do this?

I remember that wreck-alot of fire damage and that unique bow. Very nice work.
Think about adding a red filter that should remove alot of the lime green tint. I am asked now and then why the water is that color-it's not, it's due to losing red from the spectrum as you descend through the water column. |

I use GoPros on time lapse mode capturing an image every half second. This summer I have been collecting the images SCUBA diving. Last summer I did succeed at making models with the GoPros mounted to my ROV but it took a lot of time to get it right. I also had to get dive lights to get my images brighter past 20 feet and I'm still not sure how I will mount them on the ROV.
