Can anyone tell me whether or not the fee Navionics charges for their navigation app is per month, or per year? Their site doesn’t specify the length of the subscription period.
$14.99 is the rate charged for U.S. charts. |

I paid for it once several years ago and have never paid again. Works great on my phone, I use it all the time!

Do you still have the full functionality? I found the app to not be worth much after the free trial period expired. I liked the app when I had all the features available.

I'm pretty certain it's an annual fee, but it would be worth it of it was monthly.
Now that Navionics is part of Garmin and includes Active Captain data, I love it and it's my go to for plotting a route. My boat has two garmin chart plotters at the helm and I now use them as backups to my ipad with Navionics on a Ram mount. That said, I still think one should have a dedicated plotter if electronic charts are the primary cartography. Ipads are not water resistant and you'd want something made for crappy weather when things get ugly and you need accurate navigation most. |
