This big boy was at 60 feet with me last week around man-made structure. At least 30" long.
They love structure and are not afraid of divers at all. I can touch many of them before they move. Even then they don't swim far before stopping. |

He was sitting on the trailer I found off Garnet Point in Moultonboro-map attached with Lat/Lon.

That's a really cool picture. Never seen one in person. You only catch them in the winter (i.e. ice fishing) right?

Yes very tasty, I deep fry in the bob house and if I don't tell you you'd swear it was haddock!
I was told they are very wormy in the warmer months, I don't fish in the summer so I can't confirm that. |
