We pontooned out into the broads Friday afternoon. There wasn't any wind and very few boats around. The end result- the broads were as smooth as glass!! It was quite wonderful.

Before and after the summer season are the best times to be on the lake. Enjoy.

No, not yet!
Everyone thinks that Labor Day signals the end of summer. We still have lots of great days of boating left in the three or so weeks after this holiday. Then we get cooler days and beautiful trees. Lucky us, I guess. These folks are really missing out on some good time at the lake.

Yesterday was very quiet, I thought. Maybe because the sun wasn't out all the time.

Yesterday afternoon and evening were reasons why we love the lake and island living! What a beautiful evening. And there wasn't a soul around.
It was hard to leave early this morning. Can't wait for Friday to roll around again this week |

After Labor Day is great! Most of the waves are from the wind and not other boats!!
We were out on the lake yesterday north of Little Bear & Cow Island with not to many boats around except fishing boats. We were fishing too. On the Broads after 3:30 we saw a number of sail boats enjoying the brisk wind. Fay's was quiet too with only a few of the rack storage boats out yesterday. Looking forward to the Fall colors starting in a few weeks.

We were out that Friday as well and I could not believe how flat it was. We were in the pontoon leaving 19 mile bay and I decided to go through the hole in the wall, then off and around Cow. We hit the broads and wow it was flat!! I ventured out further than I ever have. I'm glad I got to see it that way.

I took a ride from West Alton to Jockey Cove in Wolfeboro this afternoon, and saw only a couple other boats. September is one of the best months of the year on the lake!

Yesterday was exceptional, Cruise from Lakeport, Sally's Gut, around Bear Isl., Under Long Island Bridge, Hole in the Wall, Barbor Pole, Romney estate, Baer estate, Minge Cove, cove next to Glendale, Governor's Island bridge and fantastic 'Dinner Club' dinner at the NAZ. Complete with a nightcap at Avery's. The cruise can't get any better than this. Dead calm throughout the lake in the mid 80's. Very few boats sighted.
Looks like another exceptional day today!

Friday was another perfect day on the lake. When the clouds rolled in it cooled fast. I thought the cold front arrived. After visiting friends we docked at 10 PM. It was surprisingly warm out on the lake that evening.
