A few of the cam are showing some really good signs of open water. The Anchor Marine Cam is showing a couple of bergs on the move while The Black Cat cam is showing a large area of open water in the middle of the lake and the Downings Gas Dock Cam is showing the channel in Alton really opening up.

I am back to my spring pastime of checking the webcams every day - bring on the Ice Out page!! The amount of water on the various webcams is amazing.

The ice is out at Downings almost to the same degree as March 28 last year.
March 28 2011: ![]() vs February 16 2012 Too bad we can't fish it! UPDATE: Hmmmmm...I just realized that the river side of the bridge IS open to fishing, just not the bay side. I think I'll bring up my flyrod saturday (it's supposed to be sunny and mid-40's) and drift some nymphs for rainbows. Last edited by The Hairy Beast; 02-16-2012 at 02:51 PM. Reason: epiphany |
