After many months of looking, our offer was accepted on a small home in Gilford 100' away from the water, so we are very excited.
We will be in need of the following subcontractors to make this new house our own, so if any of you can help us out with recommendations, it sure would be appreciated... #1. Landscaper to do misc bush / hedge trimming lawn care and cutting and other miscelllaneous things to make the yard look nice. #2. Plumber #3. Electrician Thanks!! Dan |

I've used Santoro Plumbing & Heating (Bob Santoro) in New Durham for two good-sized plumbing jobs, and several of my neighbors have used him as well. His workmanship is excellent and he is very easy to work with. Phone number is 603-859-7113. Send me a PM if you'd like any additional info.

I can't help you out on that side of the lake but congratulations on your purchase. It is good to hear that someone is buying real estate.

If need be, there is a gentleman who owns a place on the lake who is from southern me. He is always looking for an excuse to be in the lakes region and would love to do some work for you, while he spends time down in Alton. The company is Professional Piping. He does radiant heating, solar panel powered and other alternative energy applications, as well as a full service plumbing company. His name is Ken Jordan, if your interested in his information call my cell at 617-852-0751. He does great work and will definatly go the extra mile. I know because he definatly did for me.

I live in Wolfeboro, but have used an electrician from Gilford named Brett Houle. His business is called Brett's Electric and I was very happy with the quality of work, price and promptness. His number is 603-520-7167

I live in Wolfeboro and have had three jobs done in the past 10 years - one relatively small, but the other two were significantly large ($$). On all three jobs I had the carpenter/or developer act as the general contractor for purposes of making the individual parts of the job flow together smoothly and timely.
When all is said and done with your job, you will be essentially through with the subcontractors, and they know it. But, the carpenter/general contractor will be in business into the future and will want to have the subcontractors available to him for future work, and, because of this, they (the subs) will be more attentive to his needs during your construction than they would be to your needs during construction. Also, carpenters/general contractors usually have a network of subs they prefer to use because they know the sub's work quality and reliability, and how certain subs work with other subs. My advice - go slow, talk with your builder, and do a lot of listening. My best to you. |

Not sure if it is too late, but I am an electrician (Mass and NH) and, like everyone else, looking for a reason to leave Boston and stay on my boat for a few more days. If you need an estimate, I will be heading up Saturday morning and will be there through Sunday. Jon Levis, 978-815-6122 or Fay's Boat Yard, under the covers!
