Default New Veterinarian

I have heard that a new veterinarian will be setting up an office on Union Avenue in Laconia within the near future. I believe it will be near the junction of Messer Street. Does anyone have any more information about this?

Default New Vet

Dr. McDonald is a terrific vet. He was previously with the NH Humane Society.
He has been great, even made some "housecalls" for us. He came to the house to get all our cats up to date on shots. So much easier than hauling 7 cats to a vets office.

When I first read the original post, my first thought was "Oh wouldn't it be great if Rob McDonald opened his own office here in Laconia."

Then on my way home from work I passed the sign and saw his name - I'm THRILLED!!!!! Dr. McDonald is a terrific vet, and a truly great guy, too!

This is great.

Default Dr. MacDonald

I remember a Dr. MacDonald who was once associated with another animal hospital in the area. He was well liked and held in high regard. Is his office already open? If not, does anyone know when it will be?

A stray cat found her way to me over the winter and took shelter in my barn when the snow banks were 10 feet high. I started leaving food out for her and we eventually got acquainted over time. I knew we were trouble when the tomcats started coming out of the woodwork. As luck would have it and nature took its course, she is now very much pregnant and due to deliver any day. I will need a vet if she is to continue making her home here and it would be nice to have an alternative in the Laconia area.

Chickie - this is the same Dr. McDonald you remember from that other local practice. I suspect lots of folks remember him as fondly as you and I, and his practice should be very busy!

I'll see if I can get any information regarding when he expects to open - there is some info on the letterboard sign out front. If I find out anything, I'll post back.

Default Dr. M.

I have one friend in particular who will be very pleased to hear this, as well. She really liked Dr. MacDonald and missed him after he left the other facility. At this point rabies shots and other medications have to be on hold due to the cat's pregnancy. I hope he will be open by the time the kittens enter the world, which shouldn't be too long if my calculations are correct.
Thanks

Dr. McDonald takes care of our 4 "strays" as well. Great guy. Love those house calls.
