I just put the feeder out yesterday.
Are there better areas than others? I had it hanging from the overhang on my house for a few years and it seemed to attract a lot of action. Then I hung it from my shed and didn't notice as many. Now I went back to hanging it from my house but this time I hung it in front of a window, we'll see. I don't know if hummingbirds like windows? |

One of the problems with windows is that the hummingbirds can have trouble seeing that they are there, especially when they start chasing each other. We have our feeders in front of windows and occasionally they will fly into them. They seem to shake it off but I suppose they could get hurt. There's no way to really tell.
If it happened more frequently, I would probably move the feeders but it's usually only once or twice a season, AND the windows give us a spectacular view of them especially when they start getting into their territorial antics. |

We saw our first hummingbird yesterday 5/2 at the feeder. A small one. Must have lost weight on the trip north, LOL.
