Help, please!

I think I need a brain transplant. Here’s the problem: I inadvertently got a colored plastic bag too near the lid of our hot grill, and we cannot remove the imprint of the bag. Does anyone have a magic trick as a fix? If so, TIA.

Is it painted or stainless?

It will probably burn off eventually but if it's stainless try some goof-off with or without some 0000 extra fine steel wool

A combination of zep degreaser, Ajax and elbow grease….and voila! Good as new. I will avoid making that mistake again!

Get more bags and melt them on.

That way you can say it was intentional.

Barkeepers friend. Cleans everything, especially stainless. It even gets lake grime off boats

For future reference, you'd be amazed at what WD-40 will help remove.

Not on a BBQ grill, but driving to work on route 11 Alton to Rochester, there was a black plastic bag blowing around the road. I swerved to miss it, and thought I did. Got out of the car at work and thought I smelled something, but just passed it off. Went to head home and no odor, when I left. However, when I got home and parked in the garage, strong odor of burnt plastic. The bag had got on my muffler and was now a glob of plastic firmly attached to the muffler.

Jacking the car up on jackstands, and then running the engine until it was molten again, and then started scraping, pulling with pliers, and anything else we thought would work, we got most of it off. Took about 2-3 weeks for the residue to burn off.

A stink worse than a skunk.

Flitz mat remove plastic.
Works great on any metal.
