Going to switch over to a propane "wood" stove so my splitter is for sale.
Strong unit that will split most anything you can throw at it. Starts on 2nd pull when cold and 1st pull when warm. Asking $1200 on Craigslist but will consider discounting for forum member. |

The white liquid on the lower frame (red) is hornet spray. When I uncovered it they were buzzing me.

I thought this was overpriced, so I went and checked, and these are like $1600-$1800 new these days!
When I bought mine about a decade ago, they were around $1200. Though, thinking about it, that's approximately inflation, right? I bought essentially the same thing, but by Troy-Bilt and with a Honda engine, brand new for $350 either via a Home Depot very special deal or mistake. Good luck with the sale—I've had great service from mine. Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

Yes in researching the costs to come up with a reasonable price for it I realized they are getting good $$ these days. I can’t even recall what I paid for mine at Sears in Concord plus, when listing on CL, I always bump it up a bit as the lowballers are many... I have had a good many inquiries in less than a week and as Fall approaches, this will surely sell. You STOLE the one you have! Good deal! |

I'm surprised you've not sold it yet. Where are you posting it?

I didn't know what the phrase "jumping the shark" meant- looked it up- made sense in the context presented.
Did/do you know what it meant/means? Oddly, it was coined in 1985, but I never heard it used before. My initial reaction was, that because THINK has young children, and works with students at the age when they create societal terms (and other things) for the future (their present), maybe he simply can't not have heard certain expressions from the regularly used, "hip" language of the youth- it is infectious (dude!)! Anyway- it works! Go ahead- try it on somebody- then duck!!!

That said, I would never use that “phrase” as it makes no sense to me... |

LOVE homemade splitters—the ultimate expression of unadulterated efficiency...untillll you lose a hand.
My father lost a finger in a machine back in the late 60's. We also had two friends with the same loss at around the same time. Safety systems came in a few years too late! Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

Many years ago had a friend who owned a forge. Some of the equipment stamped metal items, like scissor and knife blades, from blanks. The weighted "stamp" came down to the table and you could feel the entire building shake.
The operators hands were tied so that as they replaced each blank they could only reach so far. Jesus- THAT was scary to watch! |
