A few years ago, the Boat Owners Association tried to get a crosswalk approved for the safety of all who crossed the road. It got down to the final stages but the vote to approve maintaining the crosswalk did not pass at the town meeting. The crosswalk is now back on the table for consideration with the full support of the boat owners and area merchants.
