Ok.. Just let us know if you need a ride or anything. I think we are 2 doors away.

I just read somewhere either here or on Facebook about a new company on the lake called lake life concierge that provides this service. Their website is lakelifeconcierge.com.

Interesting ……. and you must have seen it on FB as I never recall a post about it in here.

I wish them luck in their endeavor ………. what a cool way to spend the summer.

The Laconia Daily Sun had an article about this. It seems like they were reading this thread:

Periodically someone posts a note on the Winnipesaukee Forum message board inquiring if there is water taxi or Uber-type ride service on the lake.

I lived in Amsterdam a few years ago, and there were multiple startups for boat rideshares (more for tourists to cruise around than actual transportation). It actually worked well because it's €20-ish for an hour long canal cruise on the tourist boats, and fuel costs were minimal as it was no wake everywhere, so if you got 5-6 people in your boat you could really clean up.

I do remember one startup that was supposed to be a boat Airbnb, in the sense of let people come and use your boat for a few hours. That one didn't last long because there's no way in hell anyone who actually owns a boat is going to let some drunks use it without them around.

It's too bad this service didn't make it (from 2002):

Default Winni Water Taxi

Winni Water Taxi was great for us when we ran some family events in 2004. The boat was built for that purpose with easy on /off over the bow so the prop stayed in deeper water. It's amazing how many different uses the Eastern 27 & 31 have been put in service. I believe the boat was sold for similar use elsewhere, giving the new operation a much lower start-up cost.

Imagine how great it would be to make a meager income doing something like this in your senior years and how wonderful it would be to be on the lake everyday meeting new folks excited to be here in the summer.

As a career no! probably not, but operating something like the Foxy Boat Service on a limited basis ............priceless.
