Sometimes those boats that come within 1/2 mile of you (like me) are simply passing respectfully close/yet far away enough away not to disturb to make sure the Captain doesn't need assistance. In the past 10 years I've actually had 3-4 instances where they did, so I don't plan on changing my practices ....... not that you were complaining, I get it! .
