Does anyone know how to or planning to, have a septic pump out on Rattlesnake? My neighbor and I were discussing how to do it and would it be best to do as a group poop transport?
Any advice would be appreciated, its a crappy subject

My septic pump just failed, I am in Moultonboro. I called Lamprey's septic service, they were there with in a few hours, had the tank pumped out and a new pump on order within a couple hours after that. New pump to be installed tomorrow. I've used them for years, great service.
What does that have to do with your request? Well when I called Lamprey's they told me the truck was on a barge coming back from an island. I would give them a call and see if they go to Rattlesnake. http://www.lampreyseptic.com/ |

Edited to add, just confirmed price through old emails, we paid .80 cents a gallon, 3 camp minimum and they waived the mobilization fee. That was in 2011... You also need to expose your tank top for them... Dan

I have gone both ways in the past. Last season I had Island Services pump out into their barge. They charged me $1.00 per gallon, or $1500. I think my tank was only a 1000 or 1250 gallon however they informed me it was a 1500. The jury is still out on that one but its history now.
The previous time before that a Lamprey truck was barged out. It was cheaper, about $1000 total between the barge and the pumping. We were a lot closer to both the home base of Island Services and Lamprey so it may be a bit more to go to Rattlesnake using either. I think a group rate with a barge and a truck makes more sense. |

I think my tank is 1500 gal as well. Are the truck tanks big enough for 4 or so people to go together on a trip?

Septic trucks can hold anywhere from 2-5000 gallons. Typical ones are around 3000.

a builder once told me it costs a third more to build on an island and when you're done, your property is worth a third less than the mainland. personally, never understood the allure although technically we live on an island, Long island. although I confess that I don't know, I have to believe that the cost to own on an island is very high.
guess that's what makes the world go round. |
