had lunch at AWKA marine a couple of weeks ago It Is a cool place. lunch was very good service was excellent, will definitely go back soon

I've heard very good reports on the food, the negatives I do hear are around docking. I heard that boats were damaged as a result of the boat traffic near the weirs last weekend, does anyone have 1st hand knowledge as I have only heard rumor? I want to try it out, but being on an island, we typically do restaurants by boat so we don't need to drive the car (

I haven't been there by boat, yet, but likely will Saturday morning.
Given the layout/location, I could see how an improperly tied off boat could be damaged. However, I think as long as you exercise some basic logic you'll be fine. My guess is that most islanders know how to properly secure their boats to deal with unexpected conditions. You'll be fine

I think they are just that.. rumors. Akwa added tie posts... (I was one of the biggest proponents of tie posts vs balls) There is no reason a properly tied boat should get damaged in any way!

Thanks, that is what I figured. We see lots of boats improperly secured around the lake and that location could make that worse.

And yes, island life makes you learn this real fast, and on the broads, you better know how to tie a line or you will wake up without a ride home.

docking a whole another subject @ AWKA they have floating docks and are allways rolling with the waves from the boat traffick . we went on our jet ski and It was very difficult to get off at their docks. my wife came very close to falling off. some one In charge suggested next time to just beach It. but having said that I will still go back and hopefully this week If it ever stops raining.
