Left this morning around 11 am and going up my 1/2 mile driveway I saw footprints in the snow. I kept on going thinking it was just somebody and their dog walking. When I came back, I stopped and got out and looked. No doubt it was a moose. It came out of the neighbors yard, crossed our driveway and down the embankment to the brook.

I saw my first deer in a couple months on our property probably about a week and a half ago...a group of five. A few days later my wife saw a beagle chasing a deer through the snow. I better not see this again......
A week or so ago I thought I saw the silhouette of a fox on a pile of sunflower seeds we had out. Two days later my wife saw the fox trotting down the driveway midday. A week or so ago I was my first chipmunk of the season. Also tons of turkey around include one large male who is already starting to show off for the ladies. |

Seeing the deer is a good thing for the herd. This was a very though winter for them...expecially the young. Hope there was not too much winter kill.
Down here in Western Mass....the winter kill was pretty bad and the coyotes took a lot of deer in addition to the harsh winter conditions.
