I always use the "Ski - Line" method of estimating !!
Typical Ski line is about (give or take the number of times it's been around your prop) 75' -- Two ski lines and room for "fudge" your there !! p.s. -- good luck challenging the Marine Patrol in any court over that one ....... seems like a collosal waste of your time (right or not)
