Default wedding vendor suggestions

Hi,

I’m brand new to the forums, live in Boston, but planning a wedding on the lake. Can anyone recommend some vendors in the area? I'm specifically looking for a florist and a caterer but other recommendations are more than welcome. We’re trying to stick with smaller local businesses as much as we can.

We’re seriously considering the Oliver Lodge in Meredith for the event. So I’d also love to talk with others (either in the forum or through email) who have planned or attended events at the Lodge.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Default Linda's Flowers in Wolfeboro - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Firstly congratulations!!!

I had the pleasure of bumping into Linda while she was delivering one of her wedding arrangements and was very impressed with her work....more impressed with her personality.
She's very creative and has a host of different kinds flowers to make your arrangements unique if that's what you're looking for like we were, or traditional.
We were very impressed with her and also wanted to support local merchants.

We also had great luck with Jacques Pastries for our cake. The delivered to the lake and made another unique cake for us from our specifications and it was gorgeous as well as YUMMY!

Good luck - hope you have a great day!

Thanks so much MaidenCove07! We are looking for a florist who can create something unique so Linda sounds wonderful.

We might be having pies instead of cake (cause w elike pie better) but I'll check out that baker if we decide to go with cake instead.

And thanks for the well wishes!

Oliver Lodge is nice place; owners Herb & Lydia, great people to work with.
They are limited to size and time of day, due to possible noise in neighborhood.
Look at Ladd Hill Gardens for flowers - partners live in Meredith & Belmont, where office is - only weddings.
Curt's Caterers, in Gilford, is really the best. If you have seen Martha Stuart's book Weddings, they catered the wedding in the chapter "On Golden Pond", which was photographed by Hawkins in Meredith, for the client. Research!

Hi Eastcoaster,
Congratulations on your engagement! We here at Love Bites Pastry Shop have actually done quite a few pie buffet weddings, as well as many many wedding cakes. Our website is www.lovebitespastryshop.com. Unlike Jacques we are actually local to the lakes region area and would love to have you check us out.
Best,
Darcy

Thanks again for all the help everyone!

No-engine: Thanks for your ideas on the florist and your thoughts about the Oliver Lodge. Have you been to an event at the Lodge? We loved it when we visited. Curt's Caterers is on our short caterer list because we've heard so many great things.

LovBitesPastryShp: YUM! Your website looks delicious! Thanks for your comment. We'll definitely be in touch to discuss pies!
