winter events

I am a new homeowner on the big lake, talking to my new neighbors they mention events like Pond hockey, Ice fishing tourney and other fun events. How does one know the dates of things like this. I live in Mass, and have looked on the forum calendar , does not mention these events.

The Meredith Rotary Club fishing derby is Feb. 13 - 14.

Of course these things require ice on the lake and snow everywhere else.

At the rate things are going it's not looking good for any significant ice formation on the lake. Guess it's a wait and see.

It contains a lot of commercial "events" but I usually check the Lakes Region Tourism calendar as well for events: http://www.lakesregion.org/CalendarT...1/Default.aspx
