Last night, Friday the 24th around 11PM we were frolicking in the hot tub on Braun bay. There was a big, I mean BIG white light with a contrail that fell from the sky in the east. It came from north to south with a downward angle.
I mean this was no normal shooting star. It was big. Did anyone ease see this? Misty. |

Perhaps the big light episode was connected with the frolicking. 🤤

Sounds like a particularly large (>20 m) meteor called a "bolide". These produce a very bright contrail which can be seen during the day. They also occasionally explode in a very bright fireball and/or produce enough debris for an impact. Two impacts that are famous are the so-called "Tunguska" event in Siberia and the "Chelyabinsk" event, also in Siberia, five years ago. Google "bolide" for more info.
