Default Tree cutting at Samoset

Does anyone know why they keep cutting more and more trees at Samoset? It also seems odd (and a little sneaky) that the trees get banded for cutting right after most people leave at the end of the season.

Default Samoset Property

The property had a long history of violations. From filling a dry riverbed to violating the original intent for the land. I use to own the property next to Samoset and the neighbors been in and out of court with the original developers. The Sherif dept even padlocked some of the units during construction.
The original agreements between neighbors is to have a 25' buffer zone around the property. Now there is none. I hope someone makes a complaint if they cut the trees around the buffer zone. I hope somebody complains if the violated the shore line protection act.

Default Tree Cutting at Samoset

I was wondering the same thing, actually. There have been several rounds of cutting, and it seems excessive. A friend who is at Samoset in the summer says they are only cutting "dead trees," but there seem to be several banded healthy ones as well.

Default Where exactly?

Are you talking about cutting on the grounds of Samoset or in the woods between Samoset and LSP ? The woods have been heavily logged, right up to the treeline in certain areas - but that's nothing to do with Samoset.

No, they have been cutting trees right IN Samoset during the last several winters, and after most of the summer folks leave.
