Default Sea Bird - Wolfeboro

Sea Bird has been closed since...November (?) due to a fire. My wife saw mention on FB last week that the repairs/renovations are nearly completed, and they'll be open again soon.

I've really missed their food.

Anyone have more concrete news about their reopening?

They are at the intersection of 109/28/Center St and the rail trail.

Yes, that is exactly where they are located.

For those of you that have been around a long time you will remember that the New Hampshire State Liquor Store used to be located directly next to them until maybe the early 1970's or so.........

The last time I was there picking up my order, they were preparing to shut down for 2 weeks for their annual vacation to the west coast. There was a letter in the paper the next week thanking the fire department for their quick actions putting the fire out. Guess it happened while they were away? I'm not sure which is worse, watching your business burn from across the street or across the country.

Sea Bird reopened today, they were very busy and started turning away orders around 6:30 because they had so many orders in the queue already.

I believe the story was they were doing some kitchen renovation at the same time as the vacation closure and had an accident with a blowtorch or welding device. I believe the family was all there when it happened. I heard this 2nd hand…

We ordered takeout there yesterday. It was our first visit as we used to go to West Lake for our chinese food. Wish we had switched earlier! This may have been the freshest, best-tasting chinese we've ever had. We'll be back (lots!).
