lucky bastard...

tried to get out yesterday morning. weatherman said winds n/nw at 7 gusting to 14. yeah right... got to glendale at 630 and those flags were right out straight. looking north, nothing but surf and white caps. another boat was coming back in (mind you it's only 6:30). first thing he said... "you don't wanna go out there". took his advice and went home. shoulda slept in and went out in the afternoon!

If it makes you feel any better I did get skunked late yesterday afternoon when this pic was taken.

Three hours of trolling and only caught a gorgeous sunset, that made it all worthwhile! Caught the majority of my fish on Saturday when the weather was crappy!!

sometimes it doesn't matter if you catch anything or not. those are the best trips. hopefully we'll get some better weather this weekend.

I was out Sunday evening for a couple hours before sunset as well. All I caught was one short, but I was quite content recalling 25+ years of ice-out salmon fishing in the same area in many different boats, with many different friends, and with my boys from toddlers to young men. Life is good.
