Default Laconia City Manager is stepping down

Find it odd that the long time city manager is stepping down just a few weeks after the long time city clerk said she is also stepping down. Both resignations are announced after uncounted voting ballots were found in Laconia about a month ago. Just tossing mud at the wall.

i have had some issues with him over the years and felt that he intentionally misrepresented facts about a certain matter in front of the City Council.

However, it seems that he has the support of the majority, if not all of the Council. They just voted to give him a 2.5% raise.

He won't be leaving until September so the city will have plenty of time to find a replacement.

Could be just a kiss to stay on till September or maybe for taking a arrow for the city council on this matter. We may never know

The uncounted ballots would either have no effect on the election outcome, or could if enough have placed the Democrats in a seat or two. Since they aren't complaining, I don't think that really matters.

Since I personally know Cheryl Hebert, I know that they left because Peter was given a huge job opportunity in the south.

I do not know Myers personally, so I have no insight into his reasoning.

I'd guess there will be considerable turnover in city government after the November elections, on a national basis. Most NH towns are non-partisan, so perhaps less impact around here. I think most NH town managers rotate after 8 years or so.

I don't think any of the council seats changed in the last one.
