Thumbs down Lobster Pound

Six of us went to The Lobster Pond tonight for Lobster. We were seated very quickly in an empty restaurant. Ordered our drinks and app's to a very friendly server, but inquired about Lobster before she left. The waitress informed us that they only had 2 five pound lobsters. We said, what? This is a Lobster rest., it's in the name how can you only have 2 lobsters in the building. She said she would go check and came back and told us that she was right and they only had the 2 five pound Lobsters. The waitress did not know why they didn't have any or what was really going on. We cancelled our order and left. This will be the last timewe go to the Lovster Pound. two years ago we went and had cold Lobster dinners. The Lobster meat inside was literally cold, the shells were warm but not the meat. Almost like they were pre cooked and then put in the cooler.

We did have great Lobster Dinners and Steamers over at the Weathervane and will definitely return.

That explains why the restaurant was empty...no lobster no patrons.
Can't imagine going to a lobster place mid summer and leaving because they were out...unacceptable for a restaurant with a name like that.

Default Lobsters this weekend.

With the price of lobsters why pay someone else? I got 5 lobsters at $3.99lb and 2.5 lbs of steamers also $3.99lb at Market Basket Saturday evening.
I satisfied my craving for a bit and at those prices it satisfied my wallet as well.
Never had the lobsters steamed before but from now on I’ll always let them do it.
I didn’t sit down to the lobsters for over an hour and they were still piping hot.
Still have 3 in the frig waiting for my return to make lobster salad.

Jonas, we got there at 5:40 pm and there was only 1 other party in the entire restaurant. Now, there might have been people on the roof deck which is not that likely because the parking lot only had a few cars in it.

BR, you are absolutely right that the price at the stores is really low, but sometimes you just want Lobster without the mess and smell in the garbage. lol

Default Lobster Pound

My husband and I were also there last night and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the 16oz strip steaks. they were cooked to perfection and the service was great.

The service we did get at the Lobster Pound was great!!! We got seated right away and the waitress showed up right away. The problem is that if you go to a Lobster Rest. for Lobster, you would expect them to have Lobster. So in the the future, I should order Steak at a Lobster Rest. and Lobster at a Steakhouse. Must have missed that memo
