Thumbs up Merry Christmas everyone!

Wow, guess I'll start the Holiday thread....

First & foremost a hearty Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to our intrepid Webmaster Don, and the wonderful family he has that shares so much of him for the enjoyment & pleasure of the rest of us.

Don, you really are a special man, a person that has touched the lives, in such a positive way, of countless folks that frequent this website. The only downside? That there are so many greatful folks out here that have never had the opportunity, unlike myself, to shake your hand and simply say thanks.

God bless you Don & your beautiful family!

And for the rest of you internet scoundrels?

Be safe, enjoy and accept my blessings all. It is easy to spend so much (too much) time here given the fantastic company that I am able to keep!

Enjoy,

Default New Christmas theme

Merry Christmas Lakers!

We are all truly blessed to share our beautiful Lake where we are smiled upon by the Great Spirit. With that thought in mind, I will not try my usual Christmas song or poem. What I would like to do is to share some moments of loving and caring that I have noticed during this Christmas season. Please add to the list.

The Salvation Army has "make a wish trees" set up in public places. People can take a star from the tree (they are marked with a childs and age) and purchase a present which is to donated to the SA for distribution. Some JA broke into the SA and stole many of the presents.

This crime was mentioned on a local radio station the next morning and they started getting phone calls and e-mails (unsolicited) donating money for the SAs fund. In the four hour show they received over $5,000 in donations! All from regular people. Moms, Dads, office workers, even truckers who were just going up I-95. About half way through the program former Governor Benson walked into the studio and asked for a pen. He cut the SA a check for ten grand and left.

Are there any other stories out there that will lift our spirits?

God bless us all and the troops.

This is great Misty Blue. I love these stories about how some people are just so uncaring and cruel and the rest of us rise up and say "We won't let this wrongdoing stand." There are a lot of "good guys" out there, you just don't hear about them as much as the bad guys.

To add to the story.............. There was someone from Pennsylvania who was listening to that radio station on their live stream and called and donated either $200 or $300, I can't remember which. When Gov. Benson came in and Mark and Danielle were speaking with him, he said the person who did that will have to look themself in the mirror every day and remember that s/he stole from children, and Danielle added "not just children, but children already in need".......
