Default Here comes summer!!!

Wow -- I wasn't expecting the volume of traffic on 293N and 93N today. I know, I know -- it's the first holiday weekend of the summer season. But what a backup -- from the 293/93 merge (I work in Manchester) all the way to about Exit 13 in Concord. I recall that on hot July 4 weekends, not so much this early.

Guess the high price of gas isn't affecting too many vacationers!

Looking forward to some warm sunshine to start the season!

Default Summer traffic

I made a round trip to Logan Airport from Wolfeboro on Sunday afternoon, and the traffic southbound was practically non-existent; however, on the way back, about 7:30 PM, the southbound traffic was building up to a reasonably heavy volume. No congestion, just volume. I turned off 95N at Portsmouth to head for Wolfeboro and the traffic was practically gone, just local stuff. My guess is that people further up 95N into Maine were heading home to beat the rush. I was really surprised when I got to Logan Airport in that the short-term parking garage was virtually empty - I mean you could make u-turns in the garage, park where you wanted, and have the whole place to yourself.

I came down 93 from exit 20 around 6PM and didn't have to touch the cruise control until the speed drop before Concord. Very weird no traffic.

I also live in Manchester area and find that same area almost every weekend backs up on Saturday mid morning.Cant understand why, when they redid 93 in Concord a few years back, they didn't make it 3 lanes through Concord. The backups are only caused by the exit/on ramps in Concord.Once your past there, the traffic starts moving.
