Default Jersey Pike

First time I've been on the pike durring holiday traffic and I learned my lesson.Traffic was very heavy, but moving well until we hit a 20 mile backup which took almost two hours to get through. We figured it must have been a huge accident .....until we reached the source of the problem. You New Yorkers already probably know this, but I sure didn't.
Somewhere around exit 10, the three truck lanes (packed) merge with the three auto lanes (packed) and you have 6 lanes going into 3.
Now,any old yankee knows that you can't attach a two inch pipe to a four inch pipe.....and the same principle applies. What were the engineers thinking?
Never again. I'm using route 81 from now on.
