Double mouthed laker
Anyone see the picture of the freak laker that was caught on Champlain? Very weird. 2 Separate mouths...don’t know if the second one was functional though.

Yes it is and this guy is mature.
Looks like this specimen breathes through the lower jaw, and catches his meals with the upper jaw. (Works for him). This is how Evolution works—although this guy is a likely dead-end.

what the?!? now that's creepy.. looks like one of the fish from the pond by the nuke plant on the simpsons. i'd be curious to see a pic from the side, to see how the gills relate to the mouths.

It appears the gills are associated with the upper orifice if you zoom in a bit.
