Default Summer Rental w/ Our Corgi

Hi everyone,

My family visits the lake every summer and used to have a place on DowIsland. We're really looking forward to our visit this summer but have a challenge. We have a one year old Welsh Corgi (named Lizzy) and really want her to be able to experience the lake too (we think she'll love boating!).

But I'm having a challenging time finding a rental property that will allow dogs. Any advice or leads?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks!

Default Slight derailment of the thread...

I have nothing about a rental property...

But I have a corgi! (Tanker is a Cardigan)... and very friendly. If Lucy is looking for a pal, my guy liked to swim! (Yes, a dog with 5" long legs swimming is a little scary - but he loves it...)

Default Something like this could work

You may want to wait a day or two as I hear the rent may come down

We have a cottage we rent and allow dogs for no extra charge, but we are full for the summer except the last week in August. If you are interested in that week, you can pm me.

Checkout www.homeaway.com and www.vrbo.com they have a search button that will let you know if they except pets.

I spoke with my partners, and we are willing to consider allowing your dog, if you'd like to chat about it. Please see our listing. If any of the weeks that are available are of interest to you, please let me know. Thank you!

I found several homes that accept dogs just looking on craigslist. There is even a filter for pets.

Default DowIsland Girl...

Is that what a baby Corgi looks like?

I think they're adorable anyway (the tiny legs crack me up) but I've never seen a Corgi puppy.

She's absolutely beautiful!!!!

Dow Island Girl….

I think I know who you are….and where you came from….Family of Calhoun….perhaps? Let me know if you do end up coming up to NH…if you are looking for a trip over to Dow, I would be happy to arrange for you to do so….you and your family & doggie can come over…check out your old home and just enjoy some time on the island.

I will PM you with my private info. I hope that the dates work for both of us. I look forward to you enjoying your time back in NH and especially at Dow…(I am two doors down from your Dad’s place…if I got the right person!)

This is my Turbo Tanker. He's a Cardigan Welsh Corgi (cardigans have a tail; pembrokes have a docked tail) and is a genetic throw back because he's a fluff, meaning he has long hair. I got him on a spay/neuter agreement from a wonderful breeder in OK - she and I are good friends.

Tanker is a one-in-a-million dog - super patient and very bonded to me. Some days he listens to me better than the Argelets!
