Personally I would run antifreeze through the cooling system but I am cautious.

Post Consider Seafoam instead

Personally, I prefer Seafoam for winter storage of my PWCs.

I have a 2002 GTX 4-Tec with a 1,500 cc engine. This is a closed loop 4 stroke, only open loop cooling systems can/need to be flushed (such as my 1996 GTX).

To winterize my 2002 GTX 4-Tec, I do the following:
  • Add Seafoam to the gas...it is a good idea to have a full tank to prevent moisture accumulation.
  • Remove the battery and place it on a battery tender.
  • Inspect the PWC (hoses, engine, hull) note anything that might need to be replaced or repaired.
  • Clean the PWC thoroughly and wax, if necessary.
  • Put Armour All on the seats.

I do flush the cooling system of the 1996 GTX with propylene glycol.
