Default Fundraiser for Snowmobile Clubs

Calling all Snowmobilers,

This is a brief message to notify you that Tavern 27 is displaying 7 mason jars representing local snowmobile clubs. Tavern 27 on the prison loop trail, is conducting a cork drive fundraiser to benefit the winning snowmobile club in the Lakes Region. Please stop by before Sunday March 10th by five o’clock pm to participate. Participants can purchase and write their name on a cork for $1.00 and drop it in the jar that represents their favorite Lakes Region snowmobile club. The jar that receives the most corks will receive all funds collected as a donation to the club. Please limit one cork per person. For more information or to vote for your favorite Lakes Region snowmobile club visit Tavern 27 on Parade Rd in Laconia or call 603-528-3057.

Thank you,
Tavern 27

Default Cork Drive Off to a Successful Start

The Snowmobile club cork drive fundraiser is off to a great. Guests at Tavern 27 have been pleased to help support Lakes Region snowmobile clubs. As of right now the Belknap Snowmobile Club and Bogie Busters are tied for highest number of votes. Stop in to Tavern 27 to vote from now until March 10th by 5pm. There is still time to support your favorite Lakes Region Snowmobile club!!

The only club that regularly post on this site is not involved?? How did that happen? How did you pick the clubs?

I was thinking and wondering the same thing, Winni. The Moultonboro Snowmobile Club people regularly post here and seems to have quite a few members on here, so why aren't they on that list?

No good deed goes unpunished?

Tavern27 (the company, not the account) has been active on the forum for a while. It's fairly obvious they just want to help the community at large. If any club was "slighted" I'd guess it was not intentional, and if they want to participate they could contact Tavern 27 and express their interest.

Given that Moultonborough is on the other side of the lake may have something to do with them not being included. You can't include every snowmobile club in a local fundraiser or it wouldn't be a local fundraiser.

I'm sorry BR you really don't think from Moultonborough to where he is on 106 in Laconia not local? They're the only ones on here that post, how could they be not included? I am sorry but I would be a tad upset if that was my club. There is no excuse for it. In his original post he wrote he has 7 mason jars but only listed 6 clubs so maybe they're in it and he just forget to listed them on this site.

Hell, why not include Pittsburg, Colbrook and Lancaster, there just up the road, a bit.
I guess everyone's interpretation of local as different, to me 20-25 miles away isn't quite local but to some it may be.
Oh don't forget Alton and Wolfeboro

No slight felt on my part, just wanted to know who the other clubs were. Any thing that helps the Clubs and a "Lakes Region" business is welcome.

This was a personal question with no input from the Club.

I feel it necessary to correct your geographical assumption of where Moultonboro is located. I prefer to say were at the "NORTHERN TIP" of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Also feel no slight. MSC is a big club and happy that Tavern 27 is doing something to support snowmobile clubs in general. MSC obviously was aware of this event and could have been in contact with Tavern 27.

All to often someone in particular has something to say and blow things out of proportion.

LOL.... 15.8 miles

Default No worries

If Moultonboro SC wanted to be included, I would have asked Ray!

I hope it turns out well for the winning club. Many clubs need help after another less than snowy winter!

Thanks, I had the Tavern 27 account created to provide a clearer association with the content we post and the Tavern. I have delegated use of the account to a staff member. User name "baygo" is and will continue to be my personal account.

Tis, I've just now learned of this oversight and I feel terrible. I delegated this task to someone who sent invitations to a list of clubs that my wife compiled a couple of years ago. Had I reviewed the list I would have notice that MSC was not there. My Bad! John and other club members have been helpful and have always been a pleasure to accommodate. I really do feel bad and am prepared to pay for my mistake. From now until Memorial day, 10% of what is spent by every guest to the Tavern, who states to us that "They want corks for the MSC", will go in a jar to be donated to MSC for next year's fuel fund. Please accept my apology.

Post Note: I can not apply 10% from Tues 2 for 1 wine, or Wed 2 for 1 Martinis, or Thurs 2 for 1 Beer, or Sunday 2 for 1 pizza. I will apply 10% from the balance of any check that contains the aforementioned.

Baygo, I think what you are doing is very nice. I was just surprised since the MSC seems to be the most active club on this forum, that they weren't included and I wondered why. I appreciate you explanation. I have no personal ax to grind, I am not a member of the Moultonboro Snowmobile Club but I do know John. I also know how hard the club members work.

Ray,

Thank you for all you do. I wish I were in town!

As many are aware, I am president of MSC and also an avid eater and wine drinker. I have come to know Ray pretty well and he is a great guy. For those that have never tried his gem of a restaurant, I suggest you do so. I particularly like going there with 6 or more and ordering all sorts of dishes.

I last talked to Ray a few weeks back at Pond Hockey. He is working on a hockey tourney of some sort as well.

Default Winning Club

Hello all,
The winning club this year was the Bogie Busters!! I apologize for the delay in revealing the winners. Tavern 27 is looking forward to doing the cork drive again next year and including even more local clubs
