Default grand larceny in Meredith

On or about January 2nd, 3 snowmobiles, and a trailer were stolen from Blackbrook Rd of Meredith near the Sanbornton line.
The sleds are:
1) 2006 Polaris Classic 700 1up - color is blue with silver and black seat.
2) 2003 Polaris Classic 700 - 2up touring - color is silver with black seat.
3) Skidoo 600 SE 2up touring- color-black all over.
Also taken was a 2003 SNO PRO clam shell type trailer color - black with damage to the aluminum siding facing the rear. Also stolen was a 27 ton hydraulic "tow behind" log splitter colored black and red and a black and red Sears Snow blower and two brand new snowboards, I gave my kids for Christmas.

If anyone has any information leading to the identification of the thieves who stole this, you will be generously rewarded. Please contact the Meredith police. Thanks- My seasons on hold.

Angry ideas

macblood,
I don't know if this a good idea or not, but if you haven't already, maybe put an add on "craigslist" under as many catagories as possible, stating what has been stolen with your discriptions.

GOOD idea to alert as many people as possible, BAD because if the lowlifes see the add they could just stay in hiding.

Go to snowmobiling web sites, local and national, and start threads on as many sites as you can mentioning everything that has been stolen and if over time the thread drops to low on the page just type in "bump" as your post, to bring it back to the top.

I would get opinions on this too, but I would post any vin. numbers you have for any of items all over the place.

How about a carfax type of web site that can show a vehicles history for the sleds. So if a potential buyer does thier due diligence it will show up stolen. I doubt anyone will go that far buying a sled, but you never know.

When its registered, will it come up as stolen, as a car would?

One last thing that came to mind...Try google'ing the description of your property stolen to see if any forsale ads come up.

I'm very sorry to hear about this, I hope you recover ALL of your property!!!!

My buddy just informed me that he was also robbed of a wood spliter on Roller Coaster Road this early week also....Thanks for the updates on Craig's list I'm going to let him see the pictures, my buddy says there's a serial number on the machine so should be easy to match up.....good luck this is very disturbing for the Lakes Region but if we can all pull together and listen we can get rid of these dirtbags.

Craigslist is just one place to look.
1. Look to the far right side of the page
2. Click on what ever State you want to search in
3. On the left side of that States home page in the "search craigslist" box, type in what ever your looking for

I posted only what showed as red/black, there are many more...***again I'm sorry if anyone gets offended if they might see thier add, I was listing what showed up as an example and not acussing anyone.
A neighboring State can be chosen and searched also, but it only helps if the thief is stupid enough to list the item.
Look at the descriptions closley even if they don't have a pic, if the details are close but wrong and not a match, maybe its worth asking the seller some questions.

I hope this helps!!!!!!!!

One more thought...How about checking with the Storage Rental facilities. Maybe if there is a person on site they could remeber seeing these items brought in recently. If you can narrow down the time and day, maybe (shot in the dark) a computer keeps track of when the gate is accessed when no one is there, like in the middle of the night.

Wonder how long before the rightful owner will get all back,,,

Default Thanks for all the leads

I spoke with the Bristol police on Saturday but they couldn't provide me any information at that time. Pictures of one of the sleds is attached. I am offering $500 reward to anyone who can ID the people responsible.

Police Uncover Hoard of Stolen Property
Feb 18, 2011 12:00 am
LACONIA — Police investigating the theft of a snow blower from a residence on Court Street in January last month discovered a hoard of stolen property, including the snow blower, in the basement and backyard shed of a home on Garfield Street this week.

Griffin Lahey, 30, of 204 Garfield Street has been charged with receiving stolen property — the snow blower — a class B misdemeanor. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Laconia District Court on March 24.

Meanwhile, Captain Bill Clary said that detectives are investigating how the other stolen items, mostly power equipment and tools, reached Lahey's home from such faraway places as New Mexico and West Virginia and are pursuing leads pointing to several suspects.

The stolen property includes a log splitter, surveying equipment, an outboard motor, lawnmower, shop vacs, a compressor, nail guns, grinders, assorted saws and other tools with an aggregate value Clary estimated came to at least $20,000. "This is a major theft ring," Clary told the Police Commission yesterday. Lieutenant Matt Canfield suspected that many of the items were taken from construction sites, including a lock box full of power tools.

Officer Peter Horan began investigating the theft of the snow blower on January 25 and early this week got an anonymous tip about where he could find it. When police recovered the snow blower, they noticed the other items and immediately executed a second search warrant of Lahey's property. Clary said that detectives found receipts from local pawnshops along with the stolen goods. "This was a very good joint effort between patrol and detectives," he said.

Exclamation Case may be solved

It appears the Meredith Police along with NH State Police have recovered some of the property and identified suspects from nearby Tamworth.

Default There is redemption!

I want to express my sincerest appreciation for the Meredith Police Department, especially Detective Cpl. John Eichhorn for helping identify the misguided individuals who violated our family. My understanding is that there are three people involved. Why they decided to rob me is still yet to be determined. There must be some connection, you think? All of news articles point to some individual who tipped OFF the police. I'd like to know who that person was so I could thank them. If anyone knows let me know.
