Default New Navigation course

There is a cool new on line navigation course being presented by Boat US. It is very through and self paced.

So here is the deal. The course costs $40 but if you enter the "promo code" 0130208 they will discount it 10% making it $36 and the Coast Guard Auxiliary gets a $10 kickback for me sweet talking you into it! Sweet deal!

To get the course go to the Boat US Foundation website and go to Boating Education. There is a sign up link right there. Don't forget to use the "promo code" 0130208 to get the bargain.

After a winter of watching my boats on the leach field I'm ready to brush up on my navigation so I'm taking it.

Let me know if you like it too.

Thanks for the info!

If you have used the course, how applicable is it to navigating on the lake? Do they cover NH inland navigation, or is it only general navigation and mostly usable in an ocean environment?

Do you have a link to the specific course you are talking about? Perhaps this is it: http://www.boatus.org/navigation/

Default Nav. class

Rich:

Not so much. It is mostly chart work and piloting. It does not look at inland boating so much but it will teach you to use the Bizer to get around the Lake. You can pull out your cell phone and get your GPS position you can plot it on the Bizer.
