Eversource files for rate decrease.
It seems like good news, but the new rate would still be nearly double the rate for last February of 10.7 cents per kilowatt hour.

Eversource purchases a lot of natural gas generated electricity...
So since we are shipping a lot of LNG overseas, the demand and price is high. We are up about 6 billion cubic feet per day in production, but are rig count is still down a bit from where it was pre-covid. It really fell of the cliff during covid and hasn't all come back online. The problem is while the US has rather steady to slightly increasing demand (single digit percentage wise) European and Asian fluctuations put companies in a tough spots for matching production with demand. |
