We live on the lake for five months and then live on the ocean in Florida for seven months, but last winter down here someone told me about a place in NH to buy K cups. Sure enough, it was in Laconia, but it has since relocated to Franklin, NH. It's great. www.bigcatcoffee.com is the website. No tax and free shipping!

They do discounts for groups or places of employment... I wonder if we could get a winni dot com discount with them... My workplace gets a 10% discount with them and I'd wager we'd have more buyers from this site...

Caffeine is a food group, in my book.

By the way - "like" them on Facebook, if you're on Facebook, that is...

Use the promo code 'BOOBOOCAT' to get 10% of all Purr-fect packs from now until Halloween!

Did you know that k-cups can be re-used for a second cup of coffee. Just use it a second time......it's a little bit weaker but still not too bad.....plus you can go dig them out of the trash and just imagine yourself as a homeless person with no money....hold onto that thought and the weaker second cup freebie tastes pretty good....go for it!

I used to use BigCat when they were in Laconia. Free Pick Up was great. They do charge for shipping on all orders less than $75.

Right now they have the 24 box of Green Mountain for $13.75. Good price, but you can get them at Airport Deli for $14.95 and they do have a terrific assortment. Since Big Cat moved to Franklin, it's a pain to drive all that way to save 1.20 a box, unless you're going to buy $75.00, which would work out to more than 5 boxes.

Now a cheaper Free Freight deal for Winnipesaukee.com members would be a winner!

Where is the Airport Country Store and Deli located ?
I am assuming somewhere near Laconia Airport.

A quick Google search shows it to be somewher behind the Cinema 8. Doesn't seem like it should be to hard to locate.

I get my K cups at BJ's in Tilton. We are members and do our bulk shopping there. They only carry a couple blends and do switch from time to time I used to pay $34, but a week ago I paid $39 and change for a box of 80 Fair Trade.

It's in the same store building as the Dunkin Donuts.

Default Reusable K-Cup

Why not use one of these...

http://www.amazon.com/Keurig-K-Cup-R...ob_gro_title_2

Fill it with your favorite ground coffee, rinse, re-use.

It works great.

It is the Citgo station right across the street from Agway or the first building on your left heading towards Gator Signs.

Intersection of Rt11 and Rt 11c. You turn in at the same traffic light as the Cinema. Its right on Rt 11 across from the airport road.

I found the most reasonable prices on line at
www.GreatCoffee.com/kgkcups.cfm.
10 or more boxes of 24 are $13.49 ea. Often they have some on sale. Free shipping if you order 6 boxes. Standard shipping will get them to you in 2 days.

I have been getting mine there for a few years now, if you order early enough in the day you will have coffee the next day. Great selection also!

Speaking of machines, what do people recommend? The brands I've seen are Keurig, Tassimo, Senseo, and Dolce Gusto.

Default Keurig

I have a Keurig at home at work and one at our camp and they all work fantastic. All were purchased at Sam's Club for I think $139.00. You can make three different size cups of coffee. The one at work gets used constantly during the day every day except weekends and we have never had an issue. They make great, always fresh coffee, are extremely convenient and keep our kitchen area much cleaner than with a normal coffee maker. You won't go wrong with a Keurig!

My wife is a coupon queen. I asked her if she knew a good place to get K-cups. She said...

"They don't make them that big."

Smile

I have my family bring them up from MA when they come. I have a spot that only sells K-Cups and they sell them for $12.75 for regular types of coffee and 12.99 for all the different specialty flavors. This price was good 3 weeks ago as that was the last purchase.

Default Bj's

If anyone is in the market to by a Kurig, go to BJ's for the best deal. I got the Kurig, plus 60 assorted K cups and one of those reusable fill with your own coffee cups all for $139.00. I've seen the same Kurig I got all by itself with no add ons going for 149 at stores.

The refillable cups are ok, but you get some grinds in there and just not quite as good. I love the Dunkin K cups, but so much $$$!

Down here in Mass there is a place called Coffee King that has free shipping on orders over $60. http://www.coffeeking.com/
Prices seem pretty reasonable and a decent variety of coffees. BJ's seems to be limited stock and you have to buy 96 at a time. I like to change it up and try new ones.

Someone mentioned Kohl's on here in an earlier post... that's also the best place to get a machine...

The one we bought last year (Keurig B60 Special Edition) is on sale now at $149. If you have 30% off coupon, that makes it $105. We got ours with a special promotion that included 60 K-Cups but we found that there was decaf, cocoa, teas, etc., in with that 60 pod pack, so there was some stuff we really didn't want.

Incidentally, that same box of 60 K-Cups that was in that promotion was recently on sale at Christmas Tree Shop in Portsmouth for $29.

So, Kohls also has a 15% off coupon you can use once a year. We brought the cost of our Keurig down to $90 - not bad.

Hi GBG;

This is the one I have... http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/pr...103&navAction=

I paid $129.00 for it which includes an accessory kit and 36 K-Cups. All three machines are still going strong and the one I bought for work gets used continuously 5 days a week!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just ran out of my box of 80 K cups from BJ's and have been under the weather for the last 3 days, so I've been loading the special cup that came with the Keurig Coffee Maker with regular coffee for the first time. It's a lot more convenient to use the preloaded K Cups. No coffee spills and no washing of cup, cover and filter required.

We've used Amazon quite a bit in the past. Lately the prices haven't been as good as they used to be but they have an excellent variety and free shipping for many items.

Default In case you're Christmas shopping for a Keurig...

Just wanted to share this deal with y'all:

Keurig Elite Coffee Brewer @ Kohl's on SALE

Retail: $150
Sale $120
Get another 20% off at checkout when you enter coupon code: SECRETSANTA
FREE SHIPPING

Final price: $96

By the way - about two weeks ago my Keurig died. I'm quite sure it's got a defective circuit board and I thought I'd have to pay to repair or replace it. However, Keurig shipped me a NEW machine at no charge. I had registered the machine when I purchased it and getting the replacement was very easy. They also had great customer service! I'm really impressed!

Default K cups in Florida

If you are in Florida the cheapest place we have found for K cups with a great assortment is BEALS "pronounced BELLS. They have stores all over the state.

If you want a big box of the same flavor. BJ's is still the cheapest.

Interesting. The 24 count shows up when I searched for vermont country blend but it doesnt show when i use the staples menu or search for k-cup. I heard that the 24 count boxes are being replaced by smaller boxes. The local green mountain distributor was all out of 24's.

In the summer this is where we get ours and also when we take day trips in the winter we always stop by and pick up a bag... great price and great selection.

Default K Cups

I went to BJ's yesterday for a box of K cups. They had a new brand San Francisco Bay Rainforest Blend, organic Arabic. The price for a box of 80 was $27.99. I bought two boxes, one for spare, because 80 do not last a month for me. So far I've had 3 cups and am very satisfied with them.

we purchased a couple of plastic k cups from amazon I think...about $15.00 each...one red and one green for my decafe...they work fine and much less cost than the actual k cups...( unless you like all the flavors ) You can refill them every time you want a cup of coffee..rinse them out and keep using them...works for us...and much less that about .60 to .75 a cup for K cups...

We have been using bigcatcoffees.com since they first came to the web. They are the place to buy your k-cups. Shipping is free after 75.00 which is not that much coffee I know because we order from them a lot. You also can make your own purrfect pack which means you can try all kinds of different flavors without having to buy a whole box. They are also locally owned and I like supporting the local business. I would say they have extreme customer service and that's hard to find. Just my 2 cents worth

On Rt. 11 Next to Agway and the Gilford Cinema 8. $11.99 all 24 pk. K-Cups this weekend (Memorial Day) only a few hours left! Keep your eyes on their sign, they run specials like this often! Better than Big Cat and Market Basket in Tilton!

The trick is to find them for under $0.50 per k-cup...

Default ...

Refilling a used k-cup with teaspoons of Great Value Classic Roast, 11.3 oz/$2.95, honestly makes a very, very, very good cup of coffee, plus it costs a lot less! ...no fooling around here! All it requires is a small piece of aluminum foil to replace the top of the reused k-cup. Too good ...

Reusng the same k-cup eight different times is my personal record..........wow!

Or, for about $8.95, you can purchase a Black & Decker "One Shot" coffee maker that comes with a reusable filter mesh screen that will make the same coffee as the hundred dollar Kuerig, and you never-ever need to re-use a k-cup.

Post Wait until the fall

If you wait untill the fall, Green Mountain Coffee Roaster's patents are going to expire and everyone will be selling K Cups without having to pay the royalty to GMCR. The expectation is that the prices will drop significantly.

GMCR is now selling a system called Vue that allows you to brew different size cups, different strengths etc. It is also recyclable...however, this technology will likely stay at a premium for a while.

Default K-Cups

"The Store" in downtown Tilton has K-cups for 12.99 for a 24 count box. Several different brands, if they don't have what you are looking for they will get it! If you are heading towards Franklin, its on the right just after the railroad tracks at the only set of lights in downtown Tilton.

Default ...one cup coffee makers!

Has the thread on k-cups and Keurig coffee makers coffee been deleted or am I just going blind?

Anyway, for exactly ten dollars, I just yesterday got a "Family Chef One Cup coffee maker" at the Meredith Family Dollar store, and that is definitely the best ten dollars I ever spent. No ridiculously over-priced k-cups.....just get a tin of whatever coffee you want and keep it in the freezer....and you will become a very happy camper .... just like me........capice!!!

I also can't see the expense of the k-cups. Bought a B&D coffee maker for $18 at Walmart which comes with a 14 oz. stainless travel mug. Makes a great cup of coffee for one!

Default French Press

Bought a stainless steel thermos with a french press. Nuke the heck out of a mug of water add it to a tablespoon of cheap coffee and get a cup of java that will rival any gourmet coffee.

Default K-cup patent expires soon

The patent for the Keurig K-cup is due to expire on Sept. 16th, 2012. Starbucks has plans to sell their own k-cup type brewer in the fall. I would expect that prices will fall for the brewers and k-cups once other manufacturers enter the market.

Hopefully, someone will come up with a recyclable k-cup. Some people object to the K-cup concept since they are throwaway and not recyclable. (K-cups for the Keuring Vue system are #5 recyclable)

THere is already one, it is an insert you use instead of the k-cup and you put coffee grounds of your choice in it, then you just wash it clean

It is a good point to bring it up to those that aren't aware of this. I am well aware of the one you describe which is (reluctantly) provided with the newer machines. But I'm referring to the pre-loaded/disposable ones that are probably used 99.99 percent of the time. Its also interesting that if you were to just purchase that reusable grounds holder, it is about $16-$17 retail; an obvious attempt to steer the user to the single use/more profitable ones.

Default K-cups

I'm not a frequent coffee drinker, but the places I have seen the single-service K-cup systems are places where convenience is the operative word. At the expense of recycling, and the obvious additional waste, in a place like an automobile dealership waiting room or any basically public waiting area, convenience and simplicity is what a cup of coffee is all about, not, sadly, saving the environment.

For home use, I'm all for re-use and recycle, but sometimes something just has to give.

They do have a cup you can put your own coffee in in the K cup machine. I have one but must admit I haven't used it much.

camp guy,

I somewhat agree with the retail reference. But the k-cups containers could and should be recycled similar to the soda and water they provide in their vending machines. So if they provide recycling for the soda and water then it isn't any stretch for them. If they don't provide recycling bins, then the canned and plastic bottled items don't really matter either if recyclable.

Default K cups

Mirror Lakes BB - You make a good point, and very easily this thread could balloon into a full-blown discussion of recycling.

My point is simply that not all recyclable items get recycled, for many reasons, and one of them is convenience (even though I fully agree it isn't very inconvenient to drop the empty K-cup into a recycle bin adjacent to the K-cup coffee maker).

However, if it isn't recyclable... But talking about convenience, we see your point, and agree, where we live year round. "Cardboard boxes must be collapsed for recycle pickup". Boxes that neighbors don't collapse get left by the recycle team and picked up later by trash. Inconvenient, I guess.

This recycle is somewhat off point especially since we don't own a Keurig but just noticed that the recycle is an issue with many. Our main point was really about the off patent and seeing the flood of others going to sell a similar product (that Keurig, Green Mountain, et al were making a killing on).

While the design of the ten dollar, Family Chef one cup coffee-maker and the eighteen dollar, Black & Decker one cup Brew & Go are very similar, the B & D seems like it has better quality plastic and better brewing sounds, parts quality, and maybe better design.

Is there any way to find out if either of these one cup coffee-makers has ever started a serious fire in someone's kitchen when it failed to turn itself off or something like that? It seems like that maybe could happen ..... ?

For just 11.95, Heath's Hardware in Centre Harbor had a stack of about eight Black & Decker Brew 'n Go, one-cup-coffee-makers on sale this morning, and the Brew 'n Go is probably the best coffee maker ever made in all the world history of one-cup coffee making, forever and ever, at least! That's a very high quality small appliance at a very low price......combine that with a 2.95 large-sized, Wal-mart tin of Great Value drip coffee, and you too can be down & out, livn that Walmart side of the lake, buddy or baby!!! .....ahoy there: Mitt from Wolfeboro......it's such a great coffee maker at such a bargain basement price....... that it would be worth the trip all the way from Wolfeboro to Center Harbor.....could be time to take the Whaler out for one last ride across the lake and down to the Heath's Hardware, buddy!

GMCR's patent on the K-cups ran out, so the other labels have started to appear for less $. We haven't tried any of the newcomers...yet!

Default recyclable

The new Kuerig Vue system packs are recyclable, though more expensive, of course.
