The Winnisquam state ramp was built by the NH Fish & Game Dept using money from the boat registrations plus money from the federal gov, and the ramp is free to use. Winnisquam, Squam, and Newfound lakes all have similar ramp facilities and the Fish & Game Dept is trying to get one approved and built on Lake Sunapee.

Who knows but maybe someday one will get built on Lake Winnipesaukee too? Maybe at the Elecoya State RV Park?

This lake is pretty much very underused, most all the time now, except for a sunny Saturday or Sunday and a NH F & G ramp facility would make it easier to use for the trailer-boaters. Used to be the Ames Farm was the go-to place for trailer-boaters but no more since it was closed due to a zoning issue, so Winnipesaukee should be on the list for a state boat launch and park facility just like what's at nearby Lakes Newfound, Winnisquam, and Squam. As the biggest lake by far in NH, it just seems like Winnipesaukee should have a good state, public launch spot that could be used for events like fishing, ice-fishing, snowmobiles, recreational motor boating and paddling and fish biology inspections and research by the Fish & Game Dept.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Ames Farm donated some of their property to the state for a public boat ramp?
I wonder how the complaining neighbors would like that?
