Default Lodge 2021

The Lodge has been closed since the fall, but left the door open for the spring. I heard that the owner is considering a variety of options, but hope that he re-opens as the vaccinations become more widespread, and things open up. Perhaps a showing of support here will influence his decision-- The Lodge was great addition to Alton and local dining options, as well as the job market. Love Ellacoya, but wee need more options. Drop onto their website and or email them and show some support m a very difficult time:

We finally tried the food shortly before they closed and the prime rib was amazing! We are hoping they return this spring.

It looks like they are not reopening and the building is going up for sale.

Dam. After reading the previous posts I started planning a night out there.

This is very sad. We really liked the Lodge. Usually we hung out in the lounge when we went there -- great staff, very friendly, robust drinks.

Sad to see so many restaurants ruined by the state's mandatory closing of restaurants due to COVID.

Hate to see these people that invested so much time money and effort into their business only to have it close. These are the real businesses that need help.

The Lodge closing had nothing to do with Covid. My party talked to the owner near the end of the season. He never intended to run the restaurant but the plans fell through and he ended up managing it and running it which he did not want to do. He was getting out/selling regardless of Covid.

My friend is a neighbor and she told me tonight that the “for sale” sign went up today on The Lodge at Smith Point. Sad.

Default Lodge Update?

Any news about the Lodge property? I heard that there have been some looks at the property, have not heard about a sale or any plans for that cool location.
