Default Transportation to Boston Logan Airport

Looking for recommendations as to how to go round trip from Logan to lakes region for a few hundred dollars. To rent a car for a week (July 27-Aug 2) is like $900. I don’t mind driving an hour to pick my guests up but really don’t want to drive all the way to airport twice. Suggestions much appreciated.

Default where, really?

Lakes Region is a big place with an hour's drive around Lake Winnipesaukee in the middle. Where do you really want to go to/from? I have taken Laconia Taxi to Concord and then you can Uber almost anyplace. Boston Express (bus) goes to Logan from several NH locations, but nothing really early or really late at night. You can drive to bus depots and park for free. I used to go from South Station to Nashua in non-commuter hours for $6 because I had a Medicare card. Otherwise, $14. A little more to/from Logan, but still very inexpensive.

Default Lakes Region Limo....

Concord Coach Lines only has two trips to/from Logan per day.

Most times they do not coincide with my flights from SFO, so I hire Dave from...

https://lakesregionlimotaxi.com/

He has picked me up at 4:05 am...right on time. He'll get you to and from at any time.

With tip, it has cost me $225.

Maybe try Uber - likely $150-200 one-way

Default Tesla Ride

Hi,
Depending on the time, I probably would be willing to drive them one way for $250 and they would go in style. I was an Uber driver before COVID for fun and will be getting back to it soon. I do drive a Tesla Model S and would use it for the trip.
Message me if interested and we can discuss

Thanks to all. Probably will do uber. Their estimator is $144 to Wolfeboro. Or may pick my guests up in Portsmouth as that uber is under $100.

Default From Logan or Portland

I rent a car and drop it off at Laconia airport and vice versa. Normally cheaper than a bus.
Lately, it is cheaper to rent a truck from U-Haul and drop it off. If your a truck fan!

Default Uber estimator

Careful with the estimator, it does not estimate surge pricing. Also allot of drivers will not accept a long trip like that as they have to drive all the way back to the home area.

The idea that you can rent a uhaul truck and drive it to the Logan cheaper then a ride share or rental has me so confused on value and prices

I have rented a car at Logan to drop in Laconia in the past. I think the prices vary greatly depending upon the time of year and availability. Sometimes a phone call works better than the online estimator.

A few years ago I rented a 26 foot box truck from Penske. One way, one week, Gilford to Florida, unlimited mileage.

The online estimator had the price picked up in Lawrence MA as $400 less than if I picked it up in Concord, NH. I called on the phone and asked how far north I could pick it up for the same price as Lawrence and the woman said I can give you a Concord pick up for the same price. It never hurts to ask!

The only negative was it was governed at 71 MPH. It takes a long way to pass a car that is doing 70!

Car rental prices are crazy right now. My sister and brother-in-law came up for 5 days over the holiday weekend. The rental cost more than the airfare for the two of them.
