Default Pine Mtn View

I have been searching for years to find a Map of all the mountain peaks and their names around lake Winnipesaukee. I know there are 5 ranges of mountains that can be seen from the lake and have always been curious to identify the various peaks by name. Thanks

Here are 2 that I frequently hike:

There are maps for both ranges on the websites.

Pine Mt in the Morse Preserve had also been known as Alton Mt in the past.

What are the 5? I've talked with Randy Pierce a few times, and he has a 3D model of the Whites he uses. I wish there were a digital version of that.

Have you seen PeakFinder AR ($4.99) app for your smartphone? It identifies the mountains, via GPS calculations, you could see by pointing your phone in the direction. You don't even need to be able to visually see them. You can couple the overlay with a live camera image and even fine tune the overlay to exactly match the visual. I just got it so I'm not sure all it can do but so far it's very cool.

Default The Five

My understanding is, Lake Winnipesaukee, while cruising on the Lake, is the only place in the world where you can see five Mountain Ranges. Belknap, Sandwich, Squam, Presidential and Ossipee.

Default Mountain View ⛰ ⛰ ⛰ ⛰ ⛰

Last season, our son installed the PeakFinder ar app on my iPad. I believe that we can see all five of these mountain ranges from our dock on East Bear Island. 🐻
