Default Fuel prices on the water

Paid $4.25 at Channel Marine today. $150 didn't even get us a 1/2 a tank.

West Alton Marina hasn't taken delivery for the season yet as of Thurs and was still charging last Fall prices when I went it. I think it was around $2.50...get it before they take delivery! (Wish I could have backed my truck to their pumps!)

Irwin had it at 4.15 Saturday. Great boat ride in the snow! There were alot of loon's (the black and white bird - not winter boaters!) in Paugus bay. Fill up at every chance because the prices are continuing to rise.

With the ethanol issues in the gas, even with stabilizer I would not want the old gas. This is why it's nice to trailer the boat on the way to the first splash of the season to get fresher gas.

I just called West Alton marina and the gentleman told me that they are at 3.99 and he had no recollection of the price being at 2.50. Are we sure it was West Alton?

Location, location, location/supply-demand. West Alton certainly does not get the boat traffic that the marinas do in the channel or Paugus Bay. That could be the reason, but not sure that's really it. Just an educated guess.

Default Larger Tanks

West Alton installed much larger tanks than they had in their old gas dock's location. Also they are still selling thru the lower priced gas, as their traffic is still low. Once the weather gets better, all their slip renters will start staying on and using their boats - resulting in more frequent deliveries of gas by their suppliers

Just back from Sweden this weekend. We are doing pretty well by European standards. About the equivalent of $8.00 a gallon. It is scary to think of where we could end up.

$4.30/gallon at Fay's 5/29. The price is worth the enjoyment on the water that was had.

Default A consolidated list that you can view and add to

http://www.winnigas.com has a good listing of gas prices on Winni that you can add your observations to and view in date order.

The page has been optimized for mobile phones (that is what you'll have on the water, right?) and is ad-free.

I buy my gas at Fuller's for $3.54/gal. I bring it down in tanks and fill my Seadoo that way. Since i don't have a huge tank it is quite easy to do. Also by doing this I know that I always have a full tank when I go out on my long trips around the lake.

Probably because not many on here go there. I love Trexler's, but only because of the convenience to where I am. Being closed on Mondays hurts sometimes, but still always have happy, smiling help out there by the pumps.

Seems like WAM is doing better than most in that area for prices. Maybe it's time to switch from Mountain View.

Do they have a pumpout for non-resident gas customers? Do they charge for the pumpout if you buy gas? Do they have fresh water?

They have a no charge pump out. Fresh water is also available. Tips are greatly appreciated.

Default WAM on 7-6-2011

Got there just after 1130 this morning, and had to wait. They had literally ran out of gas, and the truck was filling their tank. After about 15-20 minutes, the truck tooted his horn, and they were able to start filling the boats.

Price was $3.83.

Default Trexler rip-off

Yesterday I got gas at Trexler's for our Sea-Doo and I paid $4.459 and in the afternoon I got gas for the boat at Thurston's and paid $3.999. I don;t mind paying a little more but why $.46?????

Because of the great info on this board, we did just that yesterday!

Cruised over to 19 Mile Bay for an ice cream...I think they were $4.51.

Unfortunately, WAM was up to $4.08 on 7/28 but it IS 89 octane and treated with Valvtech so I guess that's not too bad. But when you're buying 80 gals........can you say OUCH???

Almost forgot; we went by Thurston's later in the day (7/28) and they were posted as $3.99.

yeah, weird usually Channel is cheaper, but i stopped at thurstons and the pumps were down, so I was thinking that channel might have increased their price a little bit

Skelly's Market on RT109 put his price up $4.09 for 89 oct. Then you have to put additive in it, so most of these prices don't sound to bad considering that they are on the water.
I think we should start boycotting Skelly's since he thinks it's okay to rob the people who are keeping him in business!

He's not robbing you. A robber takes your money whether you like it or not. Skelly's gives you a choice; if you don't like his price you're welcome to go somewhere else.

We were on the watercraft yesterday and stopped by Shep Borwns. It was $4.29 so we continued on our way to the Weirs. (We were going there anyway.) Channel Marine and Thurstons were both $3.99. Only saved us $7.50 between the two Jet ski's but would have made a hugh difference had we been in the boat.

$3.899 @ Thurstons by the Weirs Bridge on 8/13. Non-lake access gas from the Irving in Meredith was $3.519.
It's weird that someone would rip Skelly's since my wife drove by there Thursday night & saw regular posted at $3.499. I guess that was temporary though-my in laws drove by last night, they said it was 3.519.

Default Skelly's

As a person who deals in gasoline and heating oil daily watching Skelly's pricing look over at Wolfeboro and ALL the gasoline is high, 3.699 average . Skelly's seems to change as the market does, while others even after they get their gas delivered still don't lower their prices but if the prices go up they are the first to go up, I consider Skelly's very fair.

Default 8-17 West Alton

$3.94 on 8-17.

I have to fill up at a half a tank, which is about $100, because my wife doesn't like seeing me put 50 gallons in at $200. Of course, now we are filling up twice as often, but she is happy, and " a happy wife is a happy (boating) life! ".

So happy that you are enjoying the new boat!!

BTW, I knew you'd find a way to bypass the purse strings, sooner than later!
