Default Cherry Stones Reopening?

I heard a rumor that the Seafood Restaurant (Cherry Stones I think it was called) across from Mountain View Yacht Club was going to reopen under new management this spring. Does anyone have any intel on this? That location would be a great addition to the area, with the yacht club and Silver Sands right there and Meadowbrook concerts within walking distance. We would love a good seafood place close by since we are losing Sandy Point to new management. Any news?

Thanks

Default Haven't heard anything over there, but...

... I wouldn't write off Sandy Point because it changed hands. The new owners spent quite a bit of time working in the kitchen with Walter, learning the menu and how things worked. I am not sure how big a change we will see when they open in the spring.

Default Cherry Stones

Was this closed for quite a while? I went a couple of times when they were open and I was not impress with the overall experience.

I have not heard of anything yet.

I wish the new managers good luck. They will have strict competition with Johnson's on Rte 28 and Makris on Rte 106.

It is a tough market with as you mentioned several established restaurants serving seafood in the area. Unless they stand out they don't stand a chance, with off season being the killer. Oh and not to mention the local economy as well as Patricks right next door.

Hey BH have you ever tried Southend Pizza? Their seafood IMHO is excellent.
Great Greek style pizza and subs as well.

Default Southend Pizza

I go by there every day, and never thought of stopping in. I did when they first open and I wasn't impressed. I will give them a try. I love Greek style pizza.

If there is a raw bar with Oysters and Cherrysrone clams, I'm there!

That's great news! I loved their "King Lobster" specials! Sandy Point was tops with me for lobster.... Oh great....now I'm craving lobster. I can feel my colesterol number rising already...drawn butter anyone?

Default Looks Active

Drove by today and the driveway was plowed and the realtor sign was gone (they turned it around so it only shows a blank sign). It looks like somebody is starting work on the place.

I've been getting my seafood at south End for years. I did try Sawyers 2 years ago and would say theirs is just as good as South End but a little more pricy.

South End does not have raw seafood.
They offer fried or baked dishes. They also do not serve any lobster, but what they do serve IMHO is excellent.

That place has been closed for years, but for some reason when I would go by at night a few lights would be on ... Be nice if they did re-open as its sad to see places like that sit idle..

Default Word on the Street....

Cherrystones will be reopening..... look for a mid april opening. If what I am hearing is true the place should have some italian flair to it. Great local family place! Owned by a local family! I will def be there to check it out!

Best of Luck to them!
