Default Moultonborough Library Book Sale this weekend

Saturday and Sunday, July 9 & 10 are the dates for the annual and ever popular Moultonborough Library Book Sale (9-3 each day). Stock up on a year's worth of reading for the price of one new hardcover book! This year's sale will take place in the library conference room, a smaller outdoor tent and two rooms in the Recreation Building (all within a one minute walk of each other). So from outward appearances the sale may look smaller because the large tent is missing, rest assured it is as big as ever! Proceeds help fund a variety of worthy programs for children and adults.

Default Don’t forget the MWC bake sale!

The Moultonborough Women’s Club will hold a huge bake sale tomorrow adjacent to the book sale. These sales benefit the scholarship fund for moultonborough students….and before you think that’s no big deal, please reconsider…because we have given over $200,000 in scholarships over the years! That’s a lot of brownies, folks! Come and support us.

Default Another take on the bake sales

It has been suggested by some that by supporting students by providing scholarships, we are also supporting the parents who are forging ahead with their plans for the grandiose multimillion dollar community center. While I am totally against their plan to go steaming ahead with this extravagance, especially with today’s challenges and uncertainties, I think there’s a need to compartmentalize the two items, and not punish the scholarship recipients, most of whom will need to work their way through college.
Sorry….. I strayed from the original post. 🤨
