Default Pop's Ice Cream

Went to Pop's Clam Shell this weekend for their great ice cream and found out they dropped Shane's of Maine ice cream and have replaced it with Breyers. Also their portions are quite a bit smaller. We were very disappointed. Shane's is great and Breyers doesn't come close. Should have picked up Richardson's if they had to switch. Unfortunately Pop's lost me as ice cream customer. Will still get their clams though.

We still sell some Shanes of Maine flavors. I feel that some of their flavors do not have the same fat content that they had in the past. If you have a particular flavor you like mention it to me and I will order it. We are thinking about going with Annabells or Sandwich Creamery next year. I have tried Richarsons and didn't care for it.

Default #1 ice cream in WMUR and NH Magazine

I would strike a deal with Jordan's ice cream.

Sorry for my slow response back. My kids wanted me to ask you to bring Shane's cookie dough back, it's their favorite. Second, I had a chance to have Annabell's this past weekend and I highly recommend it, especially their pistachio, it was delicious and didn't have the stupid green dye in it. Why people think pistachio ice cream has to be green is beyond me.

Any plans to ever accept credit cards? We came down for dinner tonight but the ATM inside was dead, so off to Shibleys we went. Too bad, we drove 45 minutes by boat specifically for Pop's seafood.

Being a business owner I hate giving up a percentage to cards, but how much business are you giving up because you don't take them?

Default another ATM at Amilynne's at the corner.

Just so you know.

We are on the mainland, so if we know we are going to Pop's we just swing by the bank if we are short. Kind of hard to do when heading down from the island life.

Sorrry you missed Pops.

Ya bring your bank book.
They might be the best but also the most expensive around.
We stopped at Johnsons and found them to be very good. Thought they were a bit pricy until we saw the size of the scoop you get.

Yes, I am aware of it but after dragging 3 hungry kids from the docks down to pops, then having to go all the way back to the corner store and back again wasn't happening...

I know Pop's is now closed but I wanted to pass on my kids thanks to you. They had their favorite Cookie Dough ice cream (Shane's of Maine) and said it was great. The portions were their usually extra large size. They just wanted me to pass on their appreciation. See you in the Spring!

Mmmmm you are killing me here. I just got a new car and I may have to take a drive up there just to have some Pop's. Once a year when we are up there for vacation is hardly enough.

Default Sandy Point Restaurant opening

Today the sign went up at Sandy Point Restaurant: Opening May 8th Looked like a few people working there today as well. Another good place to eat that's accessible by boat.

Default Finally!

Yes, Pop's is openning next weekend and Sandy Point the following weekend, saw signs of life stirring at the Dockside(no announcement yet) and Shibley's is ready.
Alton Bay is starting to wake up after a long winters nap. And I am ready to get out the lawn chairs and plunk them down on the grass and listen to some great music from the Bandstand and eating Kettle Corn.

JP China has a sign board out to the left of the entrance to the parking lot that says Dockside opening on May 3rd, I believe. Mary was asking folks to support local businesses.

Default free cone weekend

We will be offering free small cones all this weekend. We now scoop Giffords ice cream and very excited about it. Two of the new flavors that are my favorite are toasted coconut and campfire smores. This is while supplys last.

Default Pops

We decided to take Sunday off from yardwork and spent 3+ hours on the Lake. Started the boating season off right by going to Pop's and enjoyed every bite. We were unaware of the free ice cream, but we did notice that everyone was commenting on how good it was. Still not as good as the clams.....

Default Pops: Across the street from the Alton Bay Comm. Center

It is across the street from the Alton Bay Community Center, the old railroad station in the bay. Just down the road from Shibley's at the Pier and on the other side of the street.

OK, That is where I thought it was located. I have been there many years ago, and that place always had great fried clams. Back in the late 50's, whole belly fried clams were only $.65 per half-pint.

THANK!
