Good luck with the heaters, I'm sure the Fire Marshall will have something to say about that.
Propane heaters on an old wooden dock is a recipe for disaster.

Let's just be positive and wish Jillian luck. Finding fault before they even open the doors is uncalled for.

If its anything like the Dox in Belmont / Tilton, it will be a huge hit!! They have great food and service! I met Jillian also and she is a wonderful person!

Looking forward to stopping by many times this summer!!

The article states that they would like to extend the season with heaters. I was envisioning those tall propane heaters that all the restaurants used during Covid. I have one and they are not very stable. Maybe some other kind of heaters up high that couldn't be knocked over would work.

I hope they do well, but I won't go out there if they have those tall propane heaters.

Default Dox = Two Thumbs Up!

Went to Dox on the pier today. While the weather wasn’t the best, the food and service certainly was! We will DEFINITELY be back! Some pics below….

We were thinking of going Monday night and after reading this its a definite. We like places that we can go by boat and its good to have new options at the Weirs.

N3456L says it's a 1952 De Havilland Beaver U-6A registered in Bedford NH, and earlier in 2015 and 2017, registered in Anchorage, Alaska .... top speed-122mph with 8 seats and one reciprocating engine.

Built by De Havilland Aircraft Canada in Calgary, Canada for the military for bush flying as an "aerial truck."

So this 72 year old airplane is still in use. It must be made with aluminum to last so long and never exposed to winter rock salt, out there.

We went last Thursday for dinner. We had the same nachos and lobster rolls as Dan did. I will say ours didn't look as good. A table right next to us had the same thing (they were eating it when we sat down). Theirs looked spectacular which is why we ordered what we did, so that left me a bit disappointed.

Won't rush back, but won't alienate it either.

Did you bring this to the attention of mgt., and if not, why not?

These are "glitches" they need to be made aware of.

Default Dox

I went last week and was disappointed. I'm probably in the minority but I liked Anthony's. I don't get the new direction. It's higher end but connected to an arcade on a pier next to a boardwalk, docks and beach. I came in from my boat in a bathing suit and immediately felt under dressed. The menu was limited. It doesn't feel kid friendly (despite being connected to an arcade). They were playing country music the whole time (no more Hawk FM). The waitress got my order wrong. Then they only give you an option to tip 20% or higher. You can't sit where you want any longer. Maybe the problem is I'm not a millennial. I wish them the best and I hate to be critical of someone trying to make a living but I just don't get the thinking behind that type of restaurant at that location. It seems misplaced to me. Guess I'll be hitting Lobster in the Rough. If there's a "bring back Anthony's" movement please sign me up.

We went for an early dinner this afternoon. My wife and I both had the short ribs and thought they were good. Our dining companion had fish tacos and thought they could have been more tasteful. I agree that the recommended tipping options on the handheld are a bit presumptive but I always try to tip a little more. What I really didn't like was the seating. It was raining so their seating was reduced. We were seated at a high top table and the chairs were very uncomfortable with no backs. Seating alone would probably make us go to the weathervane if at the Weirs.

Regarding tipping at Dox….yes the table side machine offers 20, 25 or30 percent tip BUT you can put in a custom tip which could be nothing if you so choose. You simply push the custom tip button….
