Default Heading to Ocean - Need Restaurant Suggestions

Heading to Rye beach tomorrow for some R&R
Need restaurant suggestions, I've been to Peteys' and Rays, and they are good, but looking for another seafood choice.

How about Al's Seafood or BG's Boathouse, haven't been to either and would like comments ?

I'm driving from Alton to Rye, so anyplace between theses two points would be great.

Thanks !!!!

<15 minutes from Rye Beach = The Old Salt. Seafood platter for one or Neptune's Platter for two. So good, make a bishop kick in a stained glass window.

Default BG Boat House

Been a number of times consistently good food and service.
The Dolphin Striker is an old favorite. I read somewhere they are close.
The Beach Plum is supposed to be good. The crowd send me away.
Going to try the Ice House off-season. I here it is also crowded.
Gosh, I miss Sanders!

Petey's in my opinion has the best seafood. Rays is mediocre. BG's boathouse was overpriced and not good the last time that I went.

The Atlantic Grill is pretty good but on the more expensive side of things.

Hooked up with some friends couple days ago in Seabrook. Had lunch/dinner at Tuna Striker. Very happy with the seafood offerings and the location on the water.

Went o Petey's, you can never go wrong.

What I didn't like however, was they're using paper plates, thought it was cheap, and don't remember them using these in the past.

Other than that, the food was great !

Glad you had a good experience. We stopped going some time back as the prices and quantity shifted, and it began to feel like a tourist trap. I'll keep an open mind in the future.

Tuna Striker is right across the harbor from our marina, we go there by dinghy. Excellent food and beverages.

Another vote for Ron's Landing here. Always great food there.

Petey's is wonderful too.

If your up for a drive outside of Rye
Tuna Striker in Seabrook
Galley Hatch in Hampton
401 Tavern, in Hampton
Old Salt in Hampton
BG Boat House in Portsmouth
River House in Portsmouth (I only get their Seafood Chowder and drinks the rest of their menu, I'm not impressed with).
Warren's Lobster House in Kittery
Cape Neddick Lobster Pound in York
Footbridge Lobster in Ogunquit, ME (Perkin's Cove) its just a lobster shack with the best Lobster Rolls around, hands down. Everything else in Perkin's Cove isn't worth a damn to me.
and finally
BeachFire Bar & Grille - in Ogunquit, ME

Great list! But no food trip to Ogunquit is complete without Flo's! Get them with sauce and mayo (open for lunch only, closed Weds) http://floshotdogs.com/

+1 for Tuna Striker Pub (Eastmans).

Great place to have a beer/app after a day in the beach.

I've never been by the place when they are open. 3 other places worth mentioning that I left out, 1. Brown's Lobster Pound in Seabrook, for when you want a clam bake away from the house (sorry Markey's fans). 2. Ceal's Clam Stand, if your big into fried seafood this is the place to go. When I was younger, I loved the place but as I get older I find that I'm not a big fan of fried foods anymore (minus fried dough). Last on the list is Tripoli's Pizza and although they have multiple locations, the Seabrook location comes with a bakery.

I second the recommendation on Flo’s! Also one of the few places where you can get a can of Moxie.

Annddd another tradition gone: went to Markey's the other day with my brothers, and the prices have skyrocketed. $40 for a seafood platter WITHOUT SHRIMPS.

After 35 years, it looks like we're a Brown's family now. Their seafood platter is $33 WITH shrimps.

Haha. That’s a generational question. Markeys or Browns. Markeys guy myself. Must say haven’t been in over 20 years
