Default New Restaurant - "The Breeze"

Ellacoya Barn and Grille announces, "We are very blessed and fortunate to be opening a second restaurant in the Lakes Region….STAY TUNED!! Because of your support through all of the years, we are able to expand to a location with lake views & boat access~thank you!!" Anyone have the insider's track as to where the new location might be?

Default If I was a betting person....

If I was a betting person, I'd say it may be nearby, like a restaurant that recently closed with lake views and boat access.

I believe it’s the location near Mountain View yacht club that used to be crush house.

Default New Restaurant

I believe it's been discussed that the former Lyons Den was purchased by the owners of Ellaycoya

I don't think it could be across from Mountain View and advertise boat access. You can't dock there unless you own or rent at Mountain View.

I believe it is going to be at the Lion's Den site and the Gilford town docks is where the "boat access" comes in.

Default Former Lyon's Den

Going into former Lyon's Den location but the owner of Ellacoya did not buy the building. Just running the operation.

The Den was purchased by:
Beachcliff Executive Center, Brecksville, OH which could be a front for anyone.

Ellacoya is still owned by Buzzotta, Steven R Trust. Steve built the restaurant and hired the manager.

For more than 2 1/2 months there has been a steady stream of workers of various trades at work on a transformation. So expect some changes. Photos on Facebook page offer hints. As we can't go till next week, looking to see some 1st reports.

Just stopped by. A wonderful change for those who seek a bar experience.

Ken (owner/manager from Elilacoya) plans on waiting to see if anyone asks for Dancing Rabbit Vodka before he brings it in. Please help me out😊

When I was a kid, my dad worked as a salesman for a large beer distributor. If I was going out, I'd call him and say " hey, I'm going to the Press Room tonight... trying to get anything in there? " He'd say something like " yeah, I've been trying to get St. Paulie Girl in there for months!" When my crew would get there, I'd tell the waitress " a round of St. Paulie Girl for everyone please ( knowing they didn't have it)"....most places would order on his next visit. Very effective...

Yes, that technique is still in use today. But when just one person does it they may think he's really sick and They won't buy it. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony, They may think they're both odd balls and they won't buy it for either of them. And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in asking a bar for dancing rabbit and walking out. They may think it's an
Organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day, I said
Fifty people a day asking a bar for Dancing Rabbit Vodka and
Walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.
And that's what it is, the Dancing Rabbit Vodka Movement, and it all started here.

Of course, never would have had to do it at Alice’s Restaurant because you could get anything want there.

Exceptin' Alice! We would never walk out, always changed the order. Sometimes bartenders telling the manager " hey, we've been getting a lot of requests for " such and such" ...we should have that" is all it would take!

As Steve said, yes at the town docks in Glendale. However the public 3 hour docking is only for a limited docking area. The majority of the docking area is for Gilford island residents.

I think it was a tongue-in-cheek joke about the "advertising" of Dancing Bunny vodka. At least, that's how I took it.

Myself along with our party of 8 tried The Breeze Sat night. The interior has changed quite a bit, and has a nice modern feel. A large bar has been built in front of the main windows overlooking the lake, this makes for a great view of those sitting there. It was very busy and quite loud.

Service was great and the food was good. Very seafood intensive menu, but there are also some other items including duck, steak tips and a chicken dish.

We tried the Duck Confit app and for entrées we tried the Seafood Saffron, Seafood Sauté, Chicken Prosciutto, and Steak Tips. All were delicious.

We will be back!

If I'm reading this correctly, kind of a mixed review? Did you mean that the view of the lake is no longer open and and available to all but just those at the bar (and other patrons are looking at the bar rather than the lake)? And how loud is loud?

The couple things I appreciated when I visited (other than the bread pudding) was the openness to the lake and that it was fairly subdued.

Yes, this is what I was referencing when I stated more of a bar scene. The bar is now between the tables and the windows so if you are seated at a table your view is now the back of a chair. The view from the bar is great though.

Everything was very good. It is going to be a nice addition to the lake. For an opening weekend, things went quite smoothly.

The window seats you may have enjoyed previously for nice family meal or date night in the left hand corner of the restaurant are now occupied by the bar. We had a window table, but our view was of the marine patrol building. There may be some nice views from tables in the room to the right though.

It was quite loud, we all mentioned it. The ladies thought this may be a good thing because a party of 8 can tend to get a bid noisy regardless The men felt they needed to speak loudly for each other to hear. Folks waiting to be seated were standing in open spaces enjoying a drink until their table was called. This open space may disappear though as the manager mentioned they were still waiting on some tables and chairs to be delivered.

Default Work in process

We went last Friday. Food was quite good. I had blackened Mahi Mahi and it was great. The staff is still learning and they are still finishing off the space. As has been stated it gets very loud in there. My understanding is they have ordered something (not sure what) to deaden sound. I also hear that the new furniture is still on order.

The bar does largely block the windows in the larger room. The former bar area now has tables however and I think there would be a clear view of the lake from those tables.

My opinion is there will be growing pains as the new staff learns and as they finish off the space. Be patient and give them time to do that.

I would think those window/ bar seats would provide an awesome entertainment value watching the shenanigans of boat launching and loading at the docks...well worth the price of admission and booze!

It's still the same size building so same number of people. Why do you think it is loud now when it usually wasn't before?
We've been customers for decades, Dot's, then Gretchen's and then Lyons Den. Always a friendly family place. We'll try it, but if it's just a loud bar, we'll probably be lost business. That was the problem with Junior's Crush. Good enough food and service, but just a loud bar. Didn't last long.

Thanks for all the reports!

We're really looking forward to The Breeze!

This location was our go to Friday night venue, and I hope it will continue!

I certainly hope they can use some sound treatments to help with noise environment! This was a big problem for the bar at the Lion's Den. The lack of sound treatment along with close solid hard (sound reflecting) ceilings caused it to be much too loud with a crowd. Someone starts talking, then it gets too loud with the crowd, so everyone must talk louder... then louder... then louder still! Pretty soon you can barely hear what is being said without talking very loudly, and it was a small space which didn't help. At least the dining room was much quieter.

Some good sound treatments on the walls and perhaps ceilings can help a lot. They are not overly expensive, and many can look good also!

There's another place that I frequent that also badly needs sound/noise/acoustic treatments. They often have live music and it's such a bad acoustic environment that I often can't stay long if the music starts. I'm sure they lose a lot of customers because of these issues. Not that The Breeze has music, but the acoustic environment can make a place enjoyable, or annoying if it's bad!

I was hoping with the reconfiguring of The Breeze, they would take the noise environment into consideration. Either way, we're still looking forward to it!

We ate at The Breeze Friday night with a group of 18. The food and service were both great.

I was surprised, as others have said, that so much construction work has been done. It has a very different feel to the way the Lion's Den was.

The window view is really blocked by the new bar. With the old layout many diners, not just those seated in front of the windows, could still see outside. Now, really just the bar patrons can see out and those closest to the windows have their backs facing them. It felt smaller inside because the main dining room was made smaller with the construction of the new bar.

But, it was a positive experience and we will go back.

We stopped in for lunch today, our 1st visit. The new layout is fine for us, we sat at the bar with a good view. The old bar area had 5 tables setup, could have been 6 in there. A group of ladies came in and a long table was setup in that area. There are sliding doors that can be closed to accommodate a private party in that area. By the time that we left, the area to the right of the new bar plus the old bar area was filled, with mostly ladies out for lunch. Pretty much the clientele that used to lunch in the main dining area. In all I counted 14 dining tables with ample space between tables. The new bar and the tables in the main dining area were mostly filled by 12:30.

Our lunch was just OK at best. First, there was no draft beer. Zero. The taps are not yet operational. There was an OK selection of bottled and canned beer but that is just not the same. I had the Duck Confit sandwich which was rather bland and skimpy. The fries were classic Ellacoya fare, limp. My wife had the Bao Vegetarian sandwich. She, a light eater, described it as tasty but skimpy of filling. Looking at the menu back home, there was supposed to have been apple slaw but there were just the limp fries with the sandwiches.

The old bar area used to be a regular lunch spot, often on our way back out to Welch. So, we will try the Breeze again, just not right away.

Thanks for the review. That was always my one complaint about Ellacoya, good burger but LIMP fries. Sorry they are using the same "recipe" at Breeze.

How was the sound level? The new decor with lots of wood reminds me of Johnson's. Nothing to absorb the sound. I was disappointed to see the bar in front of the windows. We used to love reserving the corner table by the window for special occasions.

The noise level was fine at lunch with the bar partway full. There are 2 window tables to the right of the new bar plus 2 more window tables in the old bar area.

The group of ladies were the South Down Shores Ladies Luncheon Group. They go to a different spot one Wednesday a month and then write/submit their findings to the South Down news letter. A few stopped to visit (begging me to reopen) and and a view consistent with what’s been shared here.

We all have to remember that before COVID there was a staffing issue for restaurants. COVID made it worst. For some the solution was to turn to SYSCO as the prep cook. Therefore, in many cases things like hand cut fries may be an offering of the past.

Understood, but as they say: "For every action there is an equal and opposit reaction."

If the quality of food and service is not up to snuff then people will avoid it and the business will fail, unless of course we all lower our standards, thinking "Any port in a storm."

Default Hand cut fries @ The Breeze

The limp fries at Ellacoya have been advertised as hand cut and had been served long before Covid and staff shortages. That was my main complaint: although the $5 hamburgers, now $8, on Mondays were great bargains, the fries were always soggy. I always enjoyed the fish and chips at the Lyon's Den. Sysco wasn't the problem.

Default New layout.

I will miss the old bar area with the sliding doors open in the summer. Perfect 'Keys' atmosphere and the barmaid Margaux was wonderful experience. The noise was contained in the bar area so we can enjoy our dining experience in a quiet area with a wonderful lake view. I'm not happy with the new setup. It is now too noisy in the big room! Gretchen, the original owner, with decades of experience in the upscale food industry did her homework and did the right thing. In fact, she had another bar to the right of the front door for those who are waiting for their table. A huge win!

It is just another Ellacoya Grill. The public wants variety.

Though I wasn't blown away by Lyons Den, almost everybody else here—and most of the reviews online—were. Weird they'd change a proven recipe.

I'm not surprised. Sandy Point in Alton Bay was a success for 50+ years and when Wally and Jean retired, the successors all tried to update a tired and dated restaurant, without success. "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.".

Exactly, and I'd think they'd want a different style restaurant in their portfolio. Unless it's better/safer to stay with what you know?

Gretchen and Roland were mom and pop and a from scratch kitchen. I don’t think new ownership has that talent.

I’m certain I have a little different take on the changing of the bar location. When it was a lions den I would occasionally hop off my mower and head over for a beer and a bite. I was never concerned about my appearance because the bar was separated from the dining room. To me it kinda felt like a local working man’s bar I don’t think I’d be comfortable heading over there in a sweaty T-shirt to sit at the bar now. Perhaps my newfound reluctance is better for other guests.

I also liked the old bar and the Den menu. However;

The Breeze has been filling up every day. In general business has been great for a new start. The new owners are in this to make a profit and so far it is on track. The bar is where the money is so they gave it the best seats in the house.

So while I liked the old, the new is what it is and I wish them well. We will give it another try in a while.

And I don't think boaters and islanders will be comfortable stopping by in bathing suits and t's.

The successors also didn't put in the hours like Wally & Jeanne. The Damons lived at Sandy Point all season, so Jeanne would be there for early morning deliveries and dinner prep would begin before the lunch hour. Their cottage was next to ours, and most nights it was 11 pm before they called it a night. Many times we saw their successors show up after 3 pm to open for dinner. The bread/roll deliveries would be waiting for them outside the kitchen door. You can't expect success with no effort. We all miss the old Sandy Point Restaurant as well as the William Tell, another long successful establishment.

We always loved Ellacoya's fries. They are hand cut and fired to order, which makes them different and more flavorful than the typical frozen ones you get everywhere else.
Are they the crispiest? no, but they taste great!
Look forward to trying the Breeze once we get up there next.

a group of us would go to Sandy Point every August by boat for the baked stuff lobster. We went twice with new owners and it wasn't good so never went back

We stopped in yesterday (Sunday May 1) for lunch at 12:15. The place was nearly empty. First thing we noticed after that was the loud music. The carpet was gone, replaced by what looked like laminate flooring. Laminate always seems to echo more than real wood, and that may have contributed to the noise level. It was carpeted before. We sat by the window in the old bar section. Our waitress brought menus and water but did not ask if we wanted drinks. We asked if the music could be turned down. "I don't know " was the response, and she left. Nothing happened and we didn't see her again. We reviewed the menu which was unappealing and we left.

The music thing is problem in a lot of places...to the point that it can ruin what would otherwise be a wonderful experience. It's puzzling why so many restaurants/bars/other venues feel the need to jack up the volume to a point where it's hard to have a conversation across a table. I suppose someone will say that it's what the majority of customers want. But do they, really?

Live entertainment is different as I feel that's the experience the venue is purposefully creating. But in most cases, I feel, people want to enjoy a comfortable conversation with the company they're with. That's often hard to do and it doesn't get any easier for many as they age.

Am I out of touch? Maybe I should get with the program and simply text my pals on the other side of the table.

When we walk into a restaurant and it's clear the music is too loud, we'll ask if there's a quieter section. If there isn't, then we're outta there.

First... they destroyed the view of the lake, by placing the bar in front of the main window, bad idea 1
Prices are high, even for lunch.
Menu has nothing the average diner would order!
Music was loud, and that was at lunchtime.
We had a party of 6, and everyone, felt the same as above.
Average food, and most was not hot, but we were not going to send back
to kitchen, as we waited a long tine already to get served.
On a good note we had an excellent waiter !

I expect the tourists, and summer crowd will flock there, but not sure the locals will be drawn in to eat, because of the pricing and menu options.
Still a good choice for a 'special occasion'.

The bar crowd will always be there, you can count on that......

I wish the owners and management success, but hope they hear feedback from the customers for improvements.

We tried the Breeze Saturday afternoon. I have mixed feelings.

The "seafood platter" was a mere snack. For a $30 platter, it was served on the same sized plate that we were given for a side plate for apps. It consisted of ONE fried jumbo shrimp, 2 fried scallops and a piece of haddock and some fries. It looked good, but that is a ridiculously small portion. Seriously, 1 shrimp????

My wife had the filet sandwich. The roll was bigger than the meat. Tasted good, very small.

My filet was great, but hardly 8oz. I would say 5-6oz at best, with a few fingerling potatoes and 3 pieces of asparagus. Same feedback, tasted good but small.

The order of steak tips was good, 4 decent sized tips and some fries. It was for a 12 year old, so he was happy.

For apps we got 2 orders of chicken tenders (ok portion and tasted very good) and the artichoke dip (small but good).

I don't think I would make it a regular dinner spot for us unless they review their meal portions. I certainly don't mind paying good money for good food, but felt a bit gypped by portion sizes. I think its more of a cocktails and apps type of place.

Default Breeze

We have been to the Breeze a number of times now and have enjoyed it. While I haven’t had the seafood platter like Codeman notes above, we have had a number of other dishes and thought the portions were of good size and excellent quality.

Their hand cut fries are excellent but if you want them crispy you need to ask for them to be well done or they will be limp like all hand cut fries normally are.

Default The Breeze - Nice Alternative

The good thing about dining in the Lakes Region is that there are good burgers, wings, fries and pizza, The bad things is that what you get in the Lakes region is burgers, fries and pizza. The Breeze is trying, successfully in my view, to bust out of this mold: duck confit, swordfish sandwich, octopus appetizer, 4 soups, cioppino, mussels, and many other seafood-focused things. We've been there three times, and had intersting and well-prepared food. Not cheap food, not plain food, but things with some thought and character. I like pizza, wings and a burger as much as the next guy, but give the octopus a go, and a swordfish on a bao bun with pickled vegs as well. Bring it on--- a nice change of pace, there will always be burgers and chicken sandwich somewhere. Cool cocktails as well.

And the view? I understand the gripe about moving the bar which obstructs the view for diners, but the bar there now is great-- and where better to have that fall Bloody Mary, that winter Irish Coffee, that early summer rose', than sitting at that bar, looking out to the islands and the trees; in winter, the ice? Diners are, and should be, more focused on their dinner companions, and not so much on the view.

This ownership group is trying to bust out of the usual Lakes Region thing. Give them a try, and give them a break, and enjoy something different.

Is that food rare on the Gilford side of the lake? Here in Moultonborough, one can drive five minutes for squid ink pappardelle with calamari and octopus, crab and spinach stuffed shrimp, escargot, duck, etc. Osteria Poggio, Lemon Grass, The New Woodshed, the Corner House and, I'm sure, a few other places are all within a few minutes and offer that type of thing.

You make a good point about the bar/table seating and groups, but when my wife and I eat out we like to sit next to each other facing whatever view there is.

We've not tried The Breeze yet as we're not over there often (we're clearly not their targeted demographic in the first place), but I do hope they do well, and it looks like they're off to a pretty good start.

Edited to add: Well, other than this review from our recent "take my vodka and go home" ex-forum-member. It looks like Baygo's been 5-starring restaurants that sell his vodka and 1-starring those that don't. What a jerk, good riddance, and it looks like a good reason to check out The Breeze!

What dangerous and childish behavior from Baygo. Can’t he imagine the same flaming happening to himself and his Tavern 27 from some disgruntled immature putz?

Great marketing strategy for your product, pal…Geesh grow up…

Late to the table for my two cents, but I couldn’t agree with you more on Wally and Jeanne. Worked for them for three summers as a kid...most passionate owners I’ve ever seen. Down to business, but genuinely kind and caring as well. Sad day Sandy Point closed, but “some day” to close a chapter has to come.

We had a 5:30 reservation tonight for six people. We arrived right on time but there was NOWHERE to park without being ticketed. I had to run in and ask the hostess where we could park. Secondly, the N.O.I.S.E. level inside was out of control. That was our biggest complaint. In addition, our poor server was working her first day and did her very best, but the bar got a drink wrong and the kitchen sent us out a wrong entree. Overall, the food was good (not outstanding) and we will try it again on a weeknight in the fall.

Yes I am giving favorable reviews to establishments that serve dancing Rabbit Vodka. You are inaccurate however in your statement that I give one star reviews to establishments that don’t serve it. At this time there’s a small handful of other local establishments that do not serve Dancing Rabbit and you will not find a negative review about them by me. The breeze is the only one star review.

The Google review I wrote about the breeze was 100% accurate. However there is an underlying motivation behind why I did so. Over the course of 10 years, I sent thousands of tables to the other restaurant managed by the same ownership. I’ve never mentioned two terrible experiences I’ve had in the other restaurant (ice clump in my clam chowder. Must not have spent enough time in the microwave). Last fall I played behind the owner in a golf tournament. One of his bartenders was in his group and when she swung his 3 wood, She hit the golf cart and broke the golf club. I generously pulled a $275 golf club out of my bag and gave it to him. When I brought my Vodka to market this spring, I thought for sure he would be quick to help a local vodka who has helped him. Instead; I was quite insulted when he told me he would rather sell Tito‘s then Dancing Rabbit. The fact is, Titos has been fined twice by the EPA for dumping their distillery waste water into the river in Austin. Distillery waste water is the most acidic waste water of any industrial waste water known to man. It’s among the worst things that can be introduced to fresh water. It shocks me that any business serving a boating community would sell it to begin with.

I have a long standing track record for applauding my competition, however in this case if there were a negative number on the scale, I would select it over the 1 star.

Did just get sucked back into a rabbit hole

Default Great place

We went to the Breeze Thursday night. It was packed, but we lucked out at the bar. Fantastic service all around, and very good food. Had I seen it earlier, it might have saved me some time at other restaurants. I had the duck, she had the seafood saffron. Both delicious, although the seafood could have used less saffron. Great addition around that locale.

Never made it to Pops, either closed one day and blocked by a truck another.

Misses. Went to the Union Diner. I can't say I've ever had bland food at a diner, but man, this was bland. Meat lover's Benedict. The meat was, well, lacking. Very mediocre all around. Not headed back there.

We were starved and gave in to the Weathervane. I had whole belly clams. They were ok, Cole slaw is horrible.

O's Steak. Nice place, staff shortage apparent. Ribeye is very good, but I'd not place O's in the most memorable category for me. Nothing bad, except slow. Just not a lasting memory.

Harts. Because, well I have to. Good as usual.

Patrick's. Pretty good, nothing special. Good service.

For some tips at the Whining Butcher. They were very good. I use prime sirloin at home and marinate overbite. Mine were a bit better, and cheaper.

Sawyers. Food's not too bad, whining butcher Hamburg is like eating a hockey puck. Great service though.

I might add that The Breeze and Harts were full of staff, busy as all heck. Both restaurants had exceptional service.

We have been to O’s a few times this summer and never experienced any sort of staff shortage issues. Always great food and service….

What the heck is Dancing Rabbit Vodka and who cares,,,

Once vodka goes into a mixed drink I challenge 99% of the population to know the difference from one brand to another.

I have never had a vodka that impressed me enough to request in by name.

Is this just a local joke or someone pushing their own product???

What am I missing,,,

Could be. It's a good restaurant. I've been spoiled since 2020. We just don't go to regular places to eat anymore, because we can cook and get better quality at home. So we hardly ever go out to breakfast, rarely for lunch, and occasionally for dinner now. I can buy prime cuts of beef, great fresh seafood, and anything else that's looking good.

In Florida, I was astounded to see that Fleming's Prime Steakhouse was owned by the same outfit as the Outback, where I've never returned to in years. Northern New England doesn't have the advantages of fantastic competition, but they still have high prices.

I still forgot to add the pilgrimage to the Town Docks. Again, excellent service and a lot of staff. My only lobster roll, expensive, and good. Just wanted to hang out by the water. I imagine their servers do very well with tips there.

You're many many many months late to the discussion about Dancing Rabbit. Look it up. Vodka is not what this thread is about.

Default Revisit 'Breeze'

Saturday afternoon lunch, it was pretty busy but service is excellent. No changes in the noise situation since the last visit in the main room and requested to seat in the former bar area. The noise is a little better but not much!

The food was excellent however a bit disappointed with the cole slaw. It was packaged Sysco serving. Cole Slaw is wicked simple to make and at the price I'm paying really killed the experience.

To each his/her own.

Definitely on the louder side when crowded for sure. Agreed on Cole slaw, while I didn't have theirs, if it was bad I would have said something. Cole slaw is a simple thing that many remember in their head as to taste, and even I can make a good Cole slaw myself. Judging from every other place in the general area, The Breeze fills a pretty wide gap that appears to have been needed. Judging by the attentive and professional staff, I'm sure they take this all in as constructive criticism. Not an insurmountable list for sure.

Over here on the West Coast of New England, we suffer from an abundance of 'local' restaurant owners and groups that are mostly mediocre. I'm not a Big Portion guy myself, but typically no issues there anyway. Sadly, some of our better restaurants are national chains. We have a locally-owned 'steak house' that is overpriced for whatever reason, it certainly isn't high quality or exquisite service, I had hoped a top notch national chain would have taken the site. But locals always have the ear of those that matter. The only thing more complex and risky than a restaurant is the customers.

I think of national chains as reliable, predictable quality, but I can't really think of national chains that are top notch, or have a presence in New England. Jog my memory, please and suggest a couple of top notch chains. (Ruth's Chris?)

Capital Grille, Smith & Wollensky's, Morton's, Del Frisco's and The Palm.

However, my personal favorite is Abe & Louie's, which isn't quite a chain with locations in Boston and Boca Raton.

Default National steak house chains....

I guess I am in the minority here...

I don't really have a desire to go to the major steakhouse chains. Are they great? Sure... but I think steak is one of the easiest proteins to do well at home at a fraction of the cost. Does an aged prime steak cooked in a 1000 degree salamander shine? Of course. But is it really worth the 4x price (plus sides, sauces etc) than a Costco prime ribeye fired on your grill?

Not to mention the martinis and wine are much cheaper too!

Cheers...

If one factored cost into the equation, I doubt most people wouldn't go out to eat in the first place. My wife and I go out to eat to relax, have someone else wait on us and to socialize and people watch. It is a frivolous activity we both enjoy. When we were younger we used to go out to eat much more than we do now. However, we still enjoy it.

Finally made it over yesterday. Wife and I were VERY happy with everything. The drinks were made very well, that is something I watch because poorly mixed drinks are never a good thing when we go out. Tried a couple of their drinks on the menu, mine was a whiskey drink, her's a vodka drink.
We started with the Octopus appetizer. I am always looking for new "meats" to eat and I have never had that. My wife went to school in Spain for a while so she is very familiar with it and said it was cooked perfectly. The oil garlic sauce was a great pairing with it, wish I had more bread to soak it up with!!
I had the pork belly sandwich and she had the sandwich of the day which was a jerk chicken. Both were very tasty.
We left happy and went out to do some Local Business Saturday Shopping.
I do believe I saw the C-Nile there on the dock as well, and was a little surprised to see the fire boat still in the water too. Looked like all the MP boats are out.

I think Gilford is keeping the fire boat in the lake until I leave ( in case I have any emergencies ).....probably not! :-) Too bad you didn't go on Sunday....the Breeze patrons got to watch me do a boat to truck transfer of stuff going home for the winter, along with 3 members of the cat herd...I'm sure THAT was fun to watch!

Default The Breeze on 3/1/24

Went for lunch, with a high top near the bar. Great service, food, drinks and views of rolling lenticular clouds over Mount Washington.

Way back when, it was Dorothy's and there was a small grocery store in the basement. Great food.

I wish there was a store there now! That would be so handy for us islanders during the summer and ice fishermen, snowmobilers, etc, etc during the winter…

There was also a small grocery store on Glendale Place 40 to 45 years ago. Left of the canvas shop and parking lot. Grey house I think.

Default Also...

Also, not to mention the Glendale Fire Station. But then again, I said not to mention it.

Don't forget the Iron Pot, beer and pizza place between the fire station and the Glendale Store. Charlotte and Lindsey served beer and pizza. The "Freewheelers" car club met upstairs in the fire station. Officer Bob Hutchinson was the Gilford PD advisor to the club. The house on the corner of Dock Rd. was Goodhue's. I believe when John was living there, he was a volunteer firefighter and drove the truck.
