The Officers and Directors of the Moultonboro Snowmobile Club wish to extend to all a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The December Christmas Party
The Christmas Party was a great success. We had thirty two members attend. The dinner that Harts served was excellent. There was more than enough turkey and roast beef for all. Those participating in the Yankee Swap had a fun time haggling over the best gift. We had a very successful raffle for both Trails and Easter seals. Food donations were more the generous. The following is an account of what the club was able to do;

Thanks to everyone who donated food and gifts for those less fortunate. We collected 25 gifts for the children. We have a complete turkey dinner for a very needy Moultonboro family. In addition to this, the family will have a pasta dinner along with lots of soups, crackers and goodies. We also have many pounds of food to be given to the food pantry in Moultonboro.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Jack & Carmen Bishop

January Meeting:
The January 5th meeting will be a Pot Luck Super at the Balmoral Club House. The starting times will be 6:00 pm for appetizers and socializing. The start time for dinner will be 7:00 pm. We will need a variety of Appetizers, Main dishes and deserts. Please call with your suggestions (603-253-4373). We will have coffee and tea available. Other than that bring your own preferable beverage. Once again help will be greatly appreciated in the set-up and clean-up areas. I think the Balmoral Club House has given us the opportunity to visit more freely during and after our meetings. I am hoping others find it more personable also. If not, suggestions for future Dinner Meeting arrangements can be considered. There will be our usual
Raffles for Easter Seals and Trails. Bring those interesting item with you to the meeting. Don’t forget our Pot Luck Dinner’s have always been a big hit in the past. Don’t miss out on all the good food “Cooks” contribute. Looking forward to seeing you there. With a little bit of luck some may be able to “Ride” to this Dinner.

Corridor 15 Power Line Trail Re-Opened!
A big Thanks to Mary Smith. The Corridor 15 Power Line Trail is open as of today. This is our major trail going down Moultonboro Neck Road. The Trail had been closed because of the number of "Riders" going off the marked Trail. In order to keep this trail and all of our trails open, we need every one stay on the marked trail. Loosing this trail would cut off our link across Moultonboro Bay to the Ayres Trail that connects us to the Castle Trail. We do not have a "Land" based Trail to get to the "RT 109" side of Town. There is no alternate Trail! As the sign says “STAY ON THE TRAIL OR STAY HOME”.

The Swallow Point Trail is still closed, but we are continuing to pursue a resolution to the situation.

PS: The LAKE is not frozen yet and any areas that are will be extremely DANGEROUS!

As for our "Land" based Trails they are being Packed and Groomed daily. We are looking at more snow this week. There should be some really good riding this weekend. Check the Club website for up-to date Trail Conditions. www.moultonborosmc.com.

Safety Education Course:
We held our annual Safety Course this past Saturday. We had some thirty students attend the Class. This was the first time in maybe three years that we had snow for the Riding portion of the Class.

Looking for a volunteer:
The Club is looking to fill the vacant position of Club Secretary. We are looking for someone that can attend our monthly Director Meetings that amongst other duties can take and distribute the minutes of each meeting. This Secretary is a voting Officer of the Club.

Upcoming Club Events:
We are hoping to announce several Club rides in the coming weeks. The biggest obstacle we face right now is when the Lake will be safe enough to ride on. Depending on your location, it is difficult to connect to the majority of our Trails with our lake access. I am still looking forward to the ride I mentioned earlier, from the Club garage, over the Castle, from White Lake State Park to Sandwich Notch, on to Squam Lake and back to the Club Garage.

We are looking for volunteers to organize the Bonfire other club rides and our Progressive Supper. All of these Evenst should be doable with what looks to be the best snow conditions in the last three years.

A word of thank to those who got together to help John Anderson to fold over 400 Trail Maps this week. They were Russ & Gene Hoyt, Jim & Sue Guppy, Sam Snyed, Jim & Penny Morrison

See you on the Trails, George Higgins
