Interesting story. My first boat ride was on one of those wooden boats in Alton Bay when I was just a little tyke. Every time We visited my Aunt in Wolfeboro we passed those "speedboat rides" in Alton Bay and I used to pester my mother to go on one. One day she treated me and my cousins and we all went on one. Years later when I started seing those "plastic" boats in various places they didn't seem like real boats if they didn't have varnished wood decks and transoms like those cool boats at Alton Bay.
